Minor update for THT, THTLP (and perhaps other) plans

The plans for the THT and THTLP reference a website for PL Premium adhesive: http://www.loctiteproducts.com/p/12/28/pl_ca_prem/overview/Loctite-PL-Premium-Polyurethane-Construction-Adhesive.htm However, that URL is no longer valid. I think that the current URL is: https://www.loctiteproducts.com/en/...

One big THTLP or two smaller subwoofers?

I'm looking for advice about subwoofer(s) and placement. I had planned to build (or ask Tom Smit to build) a THTLP subwoofer with 15” driver (24”x24”x72”) to pair with my La Scala speakers. Because of its size, I would need to stand the THTLP on end in one corner of my listening room. But my experie...

Re: New THT owner

Congratulations Wuzzer! I saw some of your posts on the community.klipsch.com forums and was wondering how you liked the THTs. I've had to delay my THTLP build because the amp I've ordered won't be in stock until the end of the year. I'll be pairing the THTLP with my La Scalas. As you can imagine, I...

External amp for THTLP?

I’m looking to choose an amp for the THTLP that I will be building. I'm looking for something that fits this profile: class D amp (solid state) rather than a class A or A/B amp because of power consumption and heat dissipation external amp rather than a plate amp so that I could locate it with the r...

THTLP parts list (electronics)

I've gone through the plans for the THTLP. The plans do an extraordinary job in telling one how to build the subwoofer cabinet. However, I did not see a list of the electronic components that will be needed to populate the cabinet. That's understandable since different people will choose different c...

Re: Hello from (just outside) Toronto, Canada

Thanks for the warm welcome and for the helpful information.

It'll be a few weeks before I can start on the THTLP. I'm keen to hear it.

I'm sure I'll have lots of questions. Please bear with me.

Re: Hello from (just outside) Toronto, Canada

Thanks Grant I'm planning to locate the THTLP upright in a corner (if my wife permits :D ). I'm unclear as to which way the mouth of the woofer should face: at the top or bottom, towards a wall or facing into the room. Thanks for the advice on what to drive the subwoofer with. I have a Yamaha R-N803...

Hello from (just outside) Toronto, Canada

I recently acquired a pair of 1986 Klipsch La Scalas. Listening to them has revitalized my interest in audio. I love the La Scalas but want to pair them with a subwoofer to provide bass (the La Scala drops off at around 100 Hz and doesn't really go below 50 Hz). Feedback on the Klipsch forum led me ...
