Looks great. I like the design on the mouth braces!

Re: 8*T30 30" dual 12" european
Sadly timing is not on my side, but the exploded workload should slowly ease from now on.
I got the cab finished yesterday, had to think about the connection at first, i think i'll go with that for all of the cabs. Space sufficient, less cables inside, only one point with importance of airtight...and every connector is flush :)
All sealed
Before the mouthbrace
And done, glue is setting right now.
As the winter returned again, this will take more time as i would like it to; but nothing i can change.
Will do the flanges as soon as i can, and then place some woofers in there to check if the sealing has worked. But i am pretty sure it should be airtight everywhere.

Well yeah, nothing on the time side is on my side...
I stole some of the unavailable time, got the flanges and filled the holes...but not yet further -.-
Flanges done, will def do them in one piece the next cabs. For aligning during build, to avoid the build inside chamber now...would be a win even with more wasted wood.
Corrected oopsie, glued replacement and trimmed flush

Re: 8*T30 30" dual 12" european
Had the panel underneath when cutting some bracings with the circular saw...thought the cutline was clear, turned out it was not and the corner got lost^^
But as it was about fixing shorted panels elsewhere, i thought showing the recovery maybe helps someone.
Really not a problem to fix.

Re: 8*T30 30" dual 12" european
Did start burning the drivers in, forgot about that completely.
Shortlinked the amp to my home circuit, it took a few runs until the amp did not trigger the breaker bc of the empty transistors that want to load up immediatly. But now the first 4 are running...will do the next 4 in 12 hours and maybe i get the time to put the first two in the cab to hear it finally :))
I thought about the wheelboard thing again.
I came up with the following thought: As i want to do 8 of the T30 and 4 of the DRs, i could stack tweo T30 and one DR to one carry-on-package, and i would end up with 4 equal bundles i can strap together.
The height of that adds up to around 210cm without the wheelboard, which will be problematic to get out of the door sadly. But this will be the storage-solution, to move them I'd have to take the tops of until the package is out of the door.
Now i just need to think about how to fix that stack to the wheelboard. I thought about having routed in handles in the T30 as well as in the board, board slightly overlapping, and then strapping it around everything. Between the cabs i'd place some of the protection mats, as i want to have them anyway when stacking them to play.
I just do not trust the recommended hatching with butterflys enough, the cab feels sort of too big for the little hatches (and i do not want the hatches on the cab when stacked).
anything i forgot? any problem with strapping?
I would give the wheelboard a frame on three sides, to have the position fixed to the lower cab so there is no movement when rolling around.
As i have to do a stacking solution for the DRs on top of the V-Plate later, i thought re-using the wheelboard for that. The mentioned frame could have additional bars, that would carry the lower DR, and the wheels could get grooves on top of the V-plate (similar to what someone here showed lately, just bigger wheels and covering the angled lower DR directly. viewtopic.php?p=299480#p299480 )

Re: 8*T30 30" dual 12" european
So, you're going to do a separate "movers dolly" type of transport solution, if I'm understanding correctly. I like that idea. Sounds like a clean solution, especially considering the cost of putting four casters on each cab!
I wonder if it could be effective to use rubber feet as locators. So when the cabs are stacked on the dolly, they're horizontally secured and not trying to slide off each other... additional stability over just straps alone.

Re: 8*T30 30" dual 12" european
Yes, basically halving the amount of wheels (and solving the dr250 carry problem and the dr250 stacking problem on the same page)
Rubber feet could be an option yeah, will think about this when playing around with the first. Will have to try around esp for the stacking later what works best; will post the results.
I'd reverse this, to have the sunken in counterpart on the cab to have the cab with a flush surface later, and the feet on the board.
I did a first listen now, and i really like it :))
Just fixed the drivers, connected with clamps and shut the door without gasket tape, and then placed in the worst possible way in a room.
And i was not disappointed :D
Here with one dr250: Even just one cab throws a lot, oh boy.
No leaks around the path, just the door has a lot of wind (as expected, tape after painting...)
But the combination with the dr sounds super nice, i only can imagine what 8 of these would do :D
I was far away from limiting, stepped outside for a second and even there everything was rattling...in terms of sensitivity really a nice design.
No eq, no measurements, just crossed and moved xo around between 75hz and 110hz...will do proper measurements with the 4stack, but so far i am already impressed :)
We've had whole events running with less quality than already one delivers, so with 8 i will be happy i think :)
I'd share the recording i sure did, but this says nothing...the measurements will be done when i got enough ready and the weather allows me to play outside...and these will be shared then :)
In case anyone in my area, you are welcome to listen.
All removed again, will sand cab a and start cab b next to paint them both in one set then. And then probably in pairs, will see how the space works best

Re: 8*T30 30" dual 12" european
Soo, slowly the time is rinsing and i keep stealing it :)
Did the flanges in one piece, super handy for the whole build. Would def recommend
Did the angled cuts on most panels now, just 6 and 8 missing rest is done.
Baffles all finished, now it is just putting together :)
Second one chamber done while cutting the other panels. Did a handle on the first one, i think one there is enough and maybe i'll add something where the connectors are
This. So goddam handy. Very recommend
First glued flange to panel one, then both to the side
This made the most dirt, but now done as well for all 8 :)
Just copied with a flush trim bit

Great technique... take the time to make one perfect, then run it through the clone factory. Well done.Marflinger wrote: ↑Sat Apr 04, 2026 10:40 am This made the most dirt, but now done as well for all 8

It's absolutely amazing how much of a mess a router can make. Almost the smallest tool in the herd... undeniably the biggest mess.
Way to go. Seems to be moving right along. Should have a good sized pile of bad ass bass cubes in no time

Re: 8*T30 30" dual 12" european
Absolutely. But worth doing one cab start to finish at first to get an idea of what happens.
Same with the braces, got templates for everything now i think and just have to press the copy-button :D
I even got a cap on it where my dust sucker (the literal word for vacuum here) is connected, but it's just to much and to fast what starts flying there
The longest part is the glue setting...and still snowy weather here. But screws do me a favour on this, clamps can come of and the next panel comes in. So it is at least a bunch that dries in one set, when doing pairs this will double the bunch.
Cubes yes, i started seeing them as dices and thought about putting dots on each side with the one in the front :D but not sure if the shts and giggles would be worth it.
the first is roughly sanded, will round the edges over when the second cab is done as well and paint them together then.
I'll need some sort of clothline to hang my dices out there to let them dry, i think a rod through the chamber could do the trick.

Re: 8*T30 30" dual 12" european
Same done with the braces, noticed i can do the chamber, the exit panel, and then go on brace all the sides at once.
Did the copyprocess on all braces for all cabs, which is a lot i figured. But now done as well, cab b only needs the outer panels now and the little corners.
I noticed the baffle had a bent in it, glueing the second side i did not pay enough attention.
But when keeping such things in mind, precutting everything to a reproduceable precision seems to be an option. The bracing done (except the mouth)
Hornpath done except the outer borders
Will see what time i can grab, to finish cab b and go onto painting then...and then play that song on repeat until there is no panel left :)

Finished cab b, have to wait until glue is really dry before i put a saw in there...
But precutting fits everywhere, i like.
