Re: OT12 or J112, using Kappa Pro 12s
I've used a pair of Kappa Pro in a OT12 / T39@22" and I'm very pleased with the result for 4 string bass and small house parties . However, I can't compare my rig with anything made using the most recommended drivers, and I don't see me doing measurements and producing charts. Anyway, if you do...

Footswitchable piezo array
I'm playing a Stingray 4 on a T39/OT12 rig, and while I really like the brightness provided by the tweeters, it's not always appropriate as it sometimes exacerbate some of the fret noise when digging hard (blame the player). The Stingrays, specially the mapplenecked ones seem to quite prone to that ...

Re: Duratex or equivalent in NZ/OZ
So here it is, I've finally done my refinishing on the T39 using the Easytread from Phoenix paint, available from kemtek in NZ. I paid NZ$100 for 4L delivered to my doorstep. The finish is pretty good, at times I struggled a bit to obtain an even texture, but I'd put that on the technique used. The ...

Re: Suppliers in Australia
I'm looking at Rockard , will probably use the blue though would prefer red... just to be different. Someone here once mentioned using Phoenix Easytread. http://www.phoenixpaints.com.au/m_04_06.html I've just received a 4L can that I'll use next week to do the Finish 2.0 on my bass rig. NZ$100/4L s...

Stacking OT12 and T39
What kind of corners would be suitable to stack a OT12 on a T39, is there a special trick to play to get them stacked perfectly? I initially put those basic interlocking corners on the OT: http://www.parts-express.com/images/item_standard/262-834_s.jpg , but because the T39 is a couple of inches dee...

Re: External passive crossver build
I had done something similar for mine last year. http://lh5.ggpht.com/_jT1FktKFhts/SYF6fo4l68I/AAAAAAAAAYk/5uSCfMKf3QM/s640/IMGP1143.JPG The input is on the left on a 2 pole Speakon The output is done on a 4 pole Speakon. With two cables then going out of the Output Speakon connector to their respec...

Quake with a T39, a new experience!
It just randomly happened that I had my bass rig next to the computer, a random cable between the two and I randomly decided to fire the good old Quake II game, essentially for the great soundtracks by Sonic Mayhem. For example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LX4-783qUlE :bash: :chainsaw: :loler: Th...

Re: Duratex or equivalent in NZ/OZ
Looks like a real mission you went through!!! Apparently the North Islanders swear less than the South Islanders, was it true on that case? I still haven't heard back from the distributor of the Phoenix Easytread about a due shipment of the black one, but maybe if you contact him also at kemte...

Re: Duratex or equivalent in NZ/OZ
a pair of Plasti Kote spray truck bed liner for $25, I guess 2x500ml should be just enough to cover a T39. :fingers: hmmm... actually 2 of of them isn't really enough for a big beast like a 22" T39. 3 would do, 4 wouldn't hurt. Saying so, apart from the bottom panel that hasn't been done, I st...

(...) Gorilla Grip Express Polyurethane Expaning Glue - here's the NZ link http://www.holdfast.co.nz/pages/product_details.aspx?pid=20075&cat=242&psid=20075 Out of all the glues I have tried, this is by far the best. I buy mine in bulk direct ( 4 boxes of 12 tubes ) from Holdfast and it's a...

Would you please stop hijacking my topic !!!   I've got off trademe a pair of Plasti Kote spray truck bed liner for $25, I guess 2x500ml should be just enough to cover a T39. :fingers: I'll probably put some black primer first in case I end up being a bit short... I'll report the pro...

Re: Duratex or equivalent in NZ/OZ
Cool! I got a phone call from the distributor in NZ, and it's NZD85/4L. Only problem being out of stock for the black one at the moment, but I can wait a bit more for next shipment, no rush. I'm considering un-ratfur'ing my OT12 that doesn't look that flash, and EasyTread it to match the T39 if I'm ...

Re: Duratex or equivalent in NZ/OZ
Thanks so much Alan, it looks good! What slightly put me off the first time you suggested this product was the colors on the website, the black looking quite purpleish to me. But it doesn't look that way at all on your Tubas! I've contacted the NZ distributor to find out about availability and price...

Next step, install a melded array in the OTop, for use as party/PA stuff. I don't think I need that for bass, but I might change my mind once I have it. OK, it's been done and I love it!!! http://lh4.ggpht.com/_jT1FktKFhts/SZ0oOb-J-yI/AAAAAAAAAaQ/Rz47hTowPcw/s400/IMGP1168.JPG ( Bigger Pic ) The pla...

Re: Duratex or equivalent in NZ/OZ
I'm more in the wait & see mode at the moment. (essentially, a wait and enjoy the sound). I'll give a go to http://www.reidpaints.co.nz/shop/paint/Rubber+Paint/RUBBER+ENHANCER+BLACK.html, at least on another box I don't care much about and maybe on the horn mouth, and I'll see from there. I'll l...
