cutting pvc
came up with a simple yet effective way of halving pvc pipe to make reflectors for the dr280s i'm currently building

Ah you figured out the secret recipe of putting a plug in the pipe. The only kicker to that is the ID of differing brands of pipe varies more than you might think.
I hate cleaning up after cutting these things. Damn electrically charged shavings.

They are messy alright. I'm brainstorming for the non-table saw user: Maybe you could make a second jig to go on the other side of the pipe, clamp that together, then use your jig/circular saw to slice it down the middle. Only issue I see is you're cutting through the jigs.

Without a table saw, you can do just like Hotrod did, but add another bit to the top and bottom pieces to make it work like a circular saw sled.
