My Table Tuba LS build

Just put the side on my TTLS, here are some of the build pictures :D

bought some new tools for this project, my first circular saw and router :) my previous build (autotuba) was done only using a $20 jigsaw and it was not much fun.

cutting the braces did not take a long as expected. I just used cheap bandsaw and a steady hand, didn't even need sanding afterwards.

more dry fitting, I decided to continuous braces for the bottom most for ease and segmented braces for the mid and top I hope this is ok?

I ended up redrawing the mid braces in autocad, I modified them so the sides are perpendicular to one of the ends (they are not in the sketchup), this makes measuring and cutting them out easier.

This is how it is sitting at the moment, I don't have any clamps large enough for this thing, but I have plenty of heavy boxes, so I stacked about 200kg on top of it :lol:

Looking mighty proffesional for a second build!!! Im impressed.

What a difference the right tools make when doing a complicated build like this.

I have a quick question, I am planning to down fire this thing. Is there an optimum distance from the floor to set it at?

:shock: Have you double-checked the clearance of those two t-nuts underneath the baffle brace?

It looks to me that as the fastener pokes through the t-nut it will end up contacting the brace. That could end up distorting the panels, or busting a glue joint in that area. :fingers:

Other than that, great build so far. Nice use of the router :clap:

That's the same reason I off set mine so it don't end up on a brace. If so just cut the bolt or put a smaller one in that place.

I checked the length of the screws under full gasket compression, so no problems there :)

I tried it out this morning, I am impressed!! much the same type of sound as my autotuba but just lower.

I tried watching a movie, but I don't have a high pass filter so I had to turn it down or the driver would bottom out :\. still though at 2v it's plenty loud for normal movie watching :)
