DRPA setup, seeking comments

I am about to set up my DRPA for gigging usage and I wanted to get some feedback please. I haven't dug too deeply into the features of this unit, mostly just auto-eq, GEQ, crossover, limiting, and feedback wizard. What I would like to do is set up the system where the GEQ stays set and doesn't get t...

Re: Kreg Rip Cut

I got one this weekend. Its great for breaking down sheet goods! I was able to set up 2 work horses and break down 4x8 sheets myself SAFELY. I will never do this on the tablesaw again. The very ends of cuts are a little (under a 16th) wobbly, but like everything else, you practice on scrap first, th...

Re: 2xJ210 - really great sound!

I run mixer to DRPA to power amp. They are a little pricey, but I like mine a lot. There are features that I don't need, but I use the eq and limiting all the time, and dial in some light compression depending on the venue. If we can set up early I like the feedback eliminator too.

2xJ210 - really great sound!

I finished a 2xJ210 build several months ago. I haven't really been able to lean on them yet, but its coming. However, so far they are incredible sounding! I run mixer->DRPA->Crown XLS602. I just got a rackmount mixer, so we take 2 rack boxes to gigs, one for FOH and one for Mons. Very easy setup. T...

We play both kinds, country AND western!

Just kidding. We are a 4 piece jam-band. 2 guitars, bass and drums. Our influences are Moe., Phish, Umphree's, King Crimson, Primus, Zappa and the Mothers, etc.

2 T39S and 2 DR200 - still amazed

Today the band I play in did a show along the route of the Pittsburgh marathon (outdoors). I have reviewed these cabs before, but every time I get to use them at war volume I am re-impressed. For 2 10" speakers (BP102 in 14" cabs) as subs, and the 2 8" speakers in the tops, these cabs...

2xDR200's, 2xT39 @14", outdoors

This weekend was the first time I have been able to use a full BFM FOH rig. Like the title says, 2xDR200s, 2XT39s @ 14", in a field about the size of your average high school track field (bigger than a football field). Tops split about 40', with subs center clustered. I don't have the V plate, ...

DR200 / T39s

Last week I did my first outdoor gig with the new sound system. We played outdoors at mile 24 of the Pittsburgh marathon. Previously I had used the DR's as monitors for mixing our demo, and was very impressed. We got the system set up, pinked it, and got to work. There were two bands, so I got to wa...

New DR200 for mixdown in stereo

I just connected up my second DR200 this weekend for a stereo mix of my band's demo. My setup (for playback / mixdown ) goes Linux running Ardour2 -> firewire -> Mackie Onyx 1640 -> DBX Driverack -> Crown XLS602 -> DR200, L and R These things sound absolutely amazing. I played around with speaker pl...

Re: DR-200-250 A/B

Spire, I am in the middle of a DR200 build. They are not simple. I spend a lot of time scratching my head, reading that section of the plans, flipping ahead to see how it all fits together, and rereading that section of the plans. I have just finished the horn / baffle part. Based on the plans, it l...

Re: 14" T39, Maiden voyage

My wife may have gotten some pics. I was busy running all day. Besides sound guy I was handling the bands, the magician, the bubble gum blowing competition, and helping with the event (chili cook off for the local community association). As far as what was used previously, it was either use the 15V'...

14" T39, Maiden voyage

Today was the maiden voyage of the new 14" T39's. It was an outdoor show with Yamaha club15V's on sticks. The show sounded really good! I couldn't believe how well 2 10" drivers filled the space. I had 3 power amps, and ran 3 monitor mixes, the mains in stereo, and the subs @4 ohms. The pa...
