Today was the maiden voyage of the new 14" T39's. It was an outdoor show with Yamaha club15V's on sticks. The show sounded really good! I couldn't believe how well 2 10" drivers filled the space. I had 3 power amps, and ran 3 monitor mixes, the mains in stereo, and the subs @4 ohms. The park was about 50 yards x 75 yards. Any bigger and I would have needed more subs, but for this space, perfect. It was also nice to have the power section coasting along at max load of 4 ohms. It was hot as balls out today, but the power amps only really got hot when the sun was shining on them in the morning while I was tuning the system.
The bands I mixed were really easy to work with, and everyone (especially me) was happy with the sound.
I rode the fence on these cabs for a long time, and then finally decided on these subs. I think 14"T39's are a great place to start if you're not sure exactly which one to go with. I was going to build 3015LF loaded T48's, but quite honestly that would be overkill for the places we play. The big payoff was teardown and loadout. I was covered with sweat and salt from the damn 15V's, but the subs didn't give me a hernia. Big thanks to Bill and all the wonderful people on this site who helped me through picking the right setup.

Glad that everything worked well for you!
If you would, please conpare the T39s with what you have previously used.
ps....time to replace those Yammies with some OTops or DRs!
We warned you!! <evil laugh> MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Re: 14" T39, Maiden voyage
My wife may have gotten some pics. I was busy running all day. Besides sound guy I was handling the bands, the magician, the bubble gum blowing competition, and helping with the event (chili cook off for the local community association).
As far as what was used previously, it was either use the 15V's in full range (which is something that is fine for the places my band generally plays) or rent reflex cabs. Renting cabs would have gotten the job done, but letting the power amp loaf along at 60-75% of max power on a hot day and still needing to reign in the subs a bit on a hot day was a big benefit to this system.
I will be doing a DR200 and an OT12 next, and then using the two to compare and figure out what to build multiples of.
