Re: 36" THTLP driver options
What set's Bill's horn designs, and all well designed horns apart from direct radiator subs when it comes to sound quality is the lack of audible distortion. Right there.. that's it! ..But, since it plays clean, it doesn't "sound" loud. That's usually a monumental turning point in their a...

The attached image is a rendering of my current setup. It's great you've taken the time to create these images, makes it so much easier for us try to help! ..Dont have u-shape couch yet. If you are set on choosing the THTLP, the cabinet could form part of your desired U shaped couch, l also suggest...

..while a THT is to the PV1D as an Abrams tank is to a Mini Cooper. Absolutely! 'Punchy' and 'precise' bass are also euphemisms used by audiophools. They don't define anything where acoustical engineering is concerned. If we were to describe the performance of the Tubas/Titans technically cor...

..I pulled the engine out 5 times in 6 days before I finally solved the issue. It's been an adventure! More to come! You could do it blindfolded :D Hopefully that was the last time though. How about spare fuel filters & water pumps..? Also a fuel additive which prevents fungal growth. Prop shaf...

Excellent, thanks for the heads up! They're on the radarBill Fitzmaurice wrote: ↑Sat Jun 07, 2025 10:06 pm The Lavoce WAN 123.00 is very close to the 3012HO and may be less expensive in some locales. The WAF 122.50 is considerably less expensive and also works quite well, it's just heavier.

Re: 2 Jack 112s - 3012HO with melded array
We played a lot of the cliche songs.. Nice :) I had several people ask about them actually! Spread the word Brother!! My wife also told a lot of people about them and that I built them.. It's great your wife is interested, and also proud of you! Could you post your EQ curve please if it's available...

Re: OTop8 dispersion angle and Bi-amping
Yes, you can spiral the array. For the best result the mouths of the HF horns should be in a vertical line. That will minimize any comb filtering of the highs. The mouths of the low frequency sections need not be on a vertical line as the wavelengths they pass are too long to require it. Understood...

Excellent! :D Which tunes were you playing? How was the bottom end? Did anyone ask you about the cabs? I also tested the water resistance (lol) of the Jacks as it started POURING during the parade.. Unless water ran into the port, they'll be fine as you used Duratex. Are your filters mounted to the ...

FIN! Wicked! ...my initial thoughts were that these have way more bottom end (when EQ'd) than any other pro cab of this size (or even bigger) that I've heard! Yep! They're pretty hot in the mid bass region (250-800 or so) though. Not sure if that's normal or if I fudged something with the cr...

Re: HT cabs: dye or stain?
Could you stain the outer, flat black the woofer baffles, and fit a black cloth grille..? Or do you still want to show the features of the curved array?
Edit- Possibly stain the outer, and Duratex the woofer baffles?
