thanks for the link, bgavin. we usually get our perf from Diamond metals out of Visalia, and I might get away from paying shipping if I tag onto an existing order, only problem with that is we don't order perf very often. I still have to do some price checking. We actually have some cool SS perf, bu...

It would not be a "mass run" of grills. I would require close measurements for each grill ordered, though I suppose inside H x W + bend depth would be sufficient. I've found 67% open and 70% open area in the catalogue.

16 ga. ok?

Metal grill demand

Hi folks. I'm still in the planning stage for my omni build(s), and will likely be doing a perf grill for the fronts. I have the means and tools to cut and bend grills to size, including exact bolt/fastener hole locations for the finer grill sizes. I think I can get a good rate for powder coating as...

i wonder if anyone here has attempted a metallic silver or nickel kind of finish on the melded piezo horns? depending on the look you want for your cab, it could be cool.

Thanks Dave. Is it the "good stuff"? As in you've seen it/used it?

edit: confirmed 5x5 BB @ $31.95. He said the 4x8 birch he has available is imported, but not Baltic.

Thanks again, Dave.

Well, the search for plywood is turning to be more difficult than I anticipated. Nothing available locally to Modesto. Valley Distributers in Turlock believes they can get the good stuff from Capitol Plywood in Sac., at $75 for a 4x8 1/2". Is this in the ballpark? I believe it's A2 grade, 5-ply...

Yeah, it's nice. If only the Mitsu cut bevels! I'll report my laser results in the inevitable build thread.

I work in a waterjet shop & take advantage of the equipment at hand & have ‘jetted out a pair of Omni 15’s & a pair of oversized SLA’s, and while I can cut all my parts on the machine faster than I could make two cuts on a table saw & a whole lot more accurate, (for me, anyway) the ...

Yeah, yeah, I know. That question was more in regards to dealing with the output of my amplifier than wanting more sound out of the same speaker. I could get a smaller amp, but I promised myself it was the last amp I'd buy. It's an Aguilar DB750 and me likey. Thanks again, I knew it was a differn't ...

Thanks for the reality check guys. I kinda figured this would be the prevailing wisdom, and that the KISS principle certainly applies. I'll have to do some test cutting on the laser, so I'll just draw up a few small box-end pieces to check for tolerances. Now if only Bag End would cough up the T/S o...

If you do it right, the laser will cut plywood just fine. you use nitrogen instead of oxygen as the assist gas. It turns the edges black, but that's easily removed, and you have nice square cuts. Don't worry, I'm not in a hurry, and will wear out the plans reading them before I get started, but I ha...

CNC?

Greets all. First post. Got the O10 and T39 plans, and intend on the O10.5 for first build. I searched and found only a couple references to the use of CNC for cutting panels. I've been thinking of using the Laser I operate every day to do the initial cuts. I have zero experience in working with woo...
