Time-align, TubaHT to LaScala
I just finished building a 36" wide TubaHT LP subwoofer. I am trying to blend it with my '85 LaScala speakers. I am new to blending subs/speakers, DSP, etc. I would like to ensure that my speakers and sub are time-aligned. Given their locations in relation to my seated position, I assume that I...

36" TubaHT Low Profile- Finished
Six weeks and 120 hours later, my 36" TubaHT Low Profile subwoofer is finished. I couldn't be happier with the results. I used the Dayton RSS390HF-4 15" driver powered by a Behringer NX-6000 amp, and DSP'd using a MiniDSP 2x4HD. I used baltic birch plywood and finished it with Watco Natura...

THT LP 36", 2/6 Brace shape
I am building a TubaHT Low Profile in 36" width. I am going to use four sets of braces across the width. When it comes to the four 2/6 braces, two of them will need a 1/2" tall cut-out for driver clearance. How about the other two braces, which are not located directly over the driver? Sho...

Re: PL Premium and varnished baltic birch
Sealing the grain doesn't impede varnish adhesion. Ever hear of grain sealer? I don't use varnish myself, it's too difficult to get a good result. When doing a natural wood finish I use Formby's Tung Oil. Yes, it doesn't get a lot of love from varnish snobs, but only because it's inexpensive. I've ...

PL Premium and varnished baltic birch
Almost ready to begin assembly of my TubaHT LP. I would like to varnish my baltic birch THTLP. I understand that PL Premium oozes out of joints. I fear that this would seal the wood grain, and prevent the application of varnish. Is PL Premium excess easily removed if I were to first cover the area w...

Re: How many braces? TubaHT LP, 36".
Thanks, Seth.
That is a photo that I found online. My panels are all cut, and I'm a couple of days away from starting assembly.
I had a similar thought as your suggestion. I appreciate your input.

How many braces? TubaHT LP, 36".
I am building a TubaHT Low Profile in 36" width. In the build instructions, it says that you can use 3 sets of braces for enclosures that are wider than 25", but not to exceed 8" in between braces. A 36" wide enclosure with three sets of braces would have them spaced apart 8.375&...
