Duratex or equivalent in NZ/OZ

Calling all builders from down under!
I'm wondering if there's Duratex or a similar product available this side of the world.
Or any suggestions for a finish on a T39. I'm a bit worried at the quantity and cost of carpet & glue required to cover such a beast!

You could try concrete floor paint. No idea how it compares to Duratex/Warnex for durability but it is relatively cheap and can be given the same textured look when rolled on.

My standard for PA cabinet coatings is lower than Duratex - which is very nice. I want something tough, cheap, easily applied, and easily touched up infrequently.

My new favorite "in-house" cab coating is water-based, hardens nicely, and contains texturing which looks pretty good when applied with a roller.

It is much harder & more durable than Tolex, and compares favorably to Line-X, though it is not as durable or pretty.

I've rolled it on at 40 DegreesF and it cured overnight in my cold shop. (Bring it in the house to dry faster - it doesn't stink!)

Don't buy it in a spray can - it clogs the tip too easily.

In the past I have used some Rockard from Oz - water based, and can be rolled or applied with a hopper gun - might be costly to land here though.

From the plans and rough conversions in metric units, I'd get that 2L would do for a T39?

I wasn't even convinced myself of any potential success, to be honest...
So I popped, I saw, and found nothing,... at all, despite it being from the Mega breed.

Truck bed liners, yeah good idea, except that far away from the Land of the Happy Motoring, there isn't that many bed trucks to line to make it the cheap and widely available alternative solution ...
On my web searches, I found something like those rubber paints from http://www.reidpaints.co.nz/shop/paint/ ... BLACK.html, just wondering if I should give it a go... at least it's black, thick and water(or beer)proof.

I'm putting the corners in anyway, it can stay unfinished for a bit...

A friend of mine tried that rubberised stuff. It's not bad, but I would say just OK. I decided against using it though as it does not look good for long term use.

Scorpion Coatings have a set up in Australia and I tried to get the agency here but missed out. Then the newly appointed NZ distributor contacted me just before Christmas promising me the earth, free trials bla bla bla - still haven't heard back from him.

Scorpion is a good contender for Duratex BUT it's hellishly expensive - works out to something like $250 a cab for a couple of coats going by the info I could gather.

With a risk of hijacking the thread, does anyone know of any good sources of carpet suitable for cover a cabs in NZ?

I'm more in the wait & see mode at the moment. (essentially, a wait and enjoy the sound).
I'll give a go to http://www.reidpaints.co.nz/shop/paint/ ... BLACK.html, at least on another box I don't care much about and maybe on the horn mouth, and I'll see from there. I'll let you know if the finish is acceptable.
There's obviously some speaker carpet at JayCar, that's what I've used on my OT12, but being expensive and not really great, I'll pass going for that on the T39. Even if having both cabs matching in terms of finish would be something desirable. (I'd rather redo the OT12...)
There's probably some good material to be found in the places that do upholstery for boats or caravans, but I don't really know where to look at.

I'm about two weeks off finishing a pair of T39's so am starting to think about covering them.
Yeah, I'm not sure about the carpet option, I suspect the good stuff isn't avaialble in NZ and at .50 exchange rate its gonna cost a bit getting it in from the states.
I am in the auto industry so I will see what I can find in the way of tough paint.
Are you happy with your sound (Music Man?) thru the BFM cab's?
