Melded Array Difuser Dowel - which glue?

#1 Post by billkatz »

As the final part of melded array construction I need to attach the dowel to the front of the piezos. What is the best glue for this? Hot melt? PL? Something else?
Built:

I retrofitted the difuser using PVC. I attached with hot melt glue. 3 years later and I can still pick up a DR200 only holding onto the difuser.

I used a plastic tube of the same width as the dowel and glued it to the array with the same glue used to stick the tweeters together.
2xJ15, THT, 4xT39 3012 (2x15", 2x20"), 2xSLA Pro, 2x short SLA Pro (Dayton), W6

1/2 cpvc pipe. Abs, airplane, or combo plastic pipe glue.
