If you can't reach inside to grab them with vise grip pliers, cut the screws off.

To avoid in the future use the "security screw" technique pioneered by Harley (I believe) to prevent movement of the hurricane nuts. Also always make sure the bolts go in by hand or with only very slight pressure applied to an allen wrench. Using coarse threaded nuts/bolts works better with less chance of cross threading.

had to cut a hole in the top of the sub to remove the 3 spun t nuts. filled with epoxy, coarse threaded screws ftw.

That technique is intended for regular t-nuts. Hurricane nuts have a round base.

If you spun hurricane nuts you quite possibly drilled the pilot holes a bit loose. Also, these work best in baltic birch, as the wood is more dense than pine. If properly installed in BB, you can't spin these even if you try to.
Built : 2 x beta8 wedgehorn w/melded array
20'' wide t39 3012lf loaded
still can't decide on tops !

The technique works just fine with H-nuts.....remember, we are DIYers. Drill a hole in the flange.
