Finaly had some time off from family & work life....

So finaly finished the first of my 2 titans. Its all about sanding & bondo and after that paint.
As i used the "better safe then sorry" aproach with screws and PL i am looking @'hours & hours of scraping excess glue and filling holes. I had to use a combination of brute force, and all the clamps within reach to get the last side panel on semi straight. Pictures to prove my progress will be posted tomorrow.

@ The other dutchies: Im all up for a dutch / belgium bfm shootout. I hope my second one will be done a bit quicker as i have the baffle and some panels already cut, and the experience from nr 1.

This dutchie has to upgrade his dr200 first...I haven't used them for i while, and when i fired one up yesterday, something was off...

Nice Build Bas! the first time you fire up a Titan is something magical...and after a few minutes it turns diabolical...

I have been fighting the urge to put the driver in and take it for a test drive. But i'll wait becouse i know it will stay unpainted for a long time as it will be near impossible to take it apart again.

What drivers did you use in your SLA-pro Patrick? I am thinking about replacing my 4x OT12 with a pair of SLA-pro. I don't think the Dayton 6 is available over here. The price tag on the recommended Alpha 6 drivers is somewhat prohibitive (as is shipping the Dayton alternative from Parts Express to Europe).

A shootout sounds nice , although I'm not using any BFM gear right now. I own a couple of rear hornloaded cabs (microscoop style) which I'm pretty curious about how they would compare to T39/48.
The cabs are currently up for sale along with some other equipment to raise funds for my future builds .

You might find something here http://www.europe-audio.com/Producten_c ... ep_a_ID=66Monacor brand. There are also the Fane Sovereign 6-100 @ 34 euro with Thomann, though they miss the rising midrange responce of the Alpha's. I dont know if that is necsessary for the SLA pro. Its not mentioned in the plans.

I used the alpha's...50 euro a pop, give or take. i'm looking for some replacements, but they are hard to find. maybe the fane 6-100 or the conrad speakers. I'll order some, and test it. They sure rock with the apha's! maybe a little harsh in the high's, but hey, that's why we have eq's.

I just recieved my 6kg tub of Warnex. After seeing how much paint i used to base primer the cab i guess its a bit to much... So i guess i have to make more cabs as it would be a shame to waste good Warnex.

Question: How do i apply the Warnex? I got a few different rollers varying from standard foam rollers to "structure" ones. Wich one would be the best to use?

You can use the standard foam for a nice surface, with a little "spikle" in it. if you use the structure roller you get more....well, structure. . The structure roller give it a more "pro" look.

If you've got to much warnex, save it for the next t39 or dr200...., or sell it to me for a nice price. lol.

How wide is your cab?

Not trying to be horrible but the access panel opening looks like it is way to large. And you have no panel 7's...

The cab is 52cm wide. 49,5 inner panel size.
I am aware of that Grant, but i made a single large acces panel with bracing on the back side. I have the 2 other panels cut as per the plans but i did'nt like the look as much as with 1 full panel. If it turns out to be leaking and/or vibrating i will just do it as in the plans. If i fail i will report this and surrender myself to your "I told you so" 's!
I'll make a picture of my not following the plans sin later, as currently the front is wet with paint so flipping it over for a photo is not possible.

You made a conscious decision to DIY lol.

I'm a bit wary of mistakes lately... some of them is from not understanding the plans, some plain ignorance, you get the drift.

That panel cops a pounding. And I admit my access panel is larger than it should be

Thanks Bas and Patrick. The Alpha's are about 50 euro each indeed. That adds up for 8 drivers. Going to look into the Fane alternative, thanks. I have also seen some 4" drivers for €4 each that would take about 20W. A 9 driver cab would be narrow and neat, but there are not many specs available and I'm not sure how it would hold up for band PA tops use. On the other hand, for that price I could afford to build a pair and see how it works out.
