Hopefully i can start Monday! Building at grandma's house cause my lawnmower is strewn across my garage. buying 8 sheets of ply today, each t60 takes 2.5 sheets, and the rest goes to a rack and light cases, which will have identical corner hardware and duratex, looking like a matching system . Leland's kits should come wed or thurs, so i will get started on the t60s, but will probably end up building the rack and cases. my mood?

setup workshop today. building at grandma's house cause it is air conditioned. humidity doesn't go well with pl. bought 8 sheets of plywood, totaling 254$ and some extra tubes of pl. i will probably build my rack and flight cases first as i wait for the kits to arrive!

my rack will have a custom built pc in it, midi controller, keyboard, mouse, amps and processors, and then i will have my big mixer flip up on the side. it will be an all in one unit, taking like a minute to setup. i will have it at a comfortable height for sitting, but then if the gig is a standing gig i will stack it on a thin flight case which will be built too. i know sorry i'm not kicking off with bfm

Started at 8 in the morning, went constant till 10:30. (besides lunch w/ delivered pizza ) Didn't get as much done as i'd hoped mainly because I don't have the kits yet.

Rack
I started out with my rack, which is turning out great. It is done besides the flip up mixer box I will be mounting on the side. I'm hoping I won't need the corrugated aluminum stuff (think flight cases) to bind the covers on. I will have a lot of butterfly latches or something of the sort.

T60s
I made a stupid mistake on cutting out the sides, and didn't notice it until putting panel 3 on. I had the side and the panels cut next to each other, so what happened was it was a 1/2'' short on one end of the side, and 1/2 rich on some of the panels. I trimmed and reused the panels but I will use the bad side for braces or flight cases. when you spend 260$ on ply you will be sure to use it! I was hoping to get farther with it. tomorrow I will sync up the other one to it

all that was accomplished on the t60 :(

First run with a router with a compass way easier than a jigsaw!

didn't get as much done today as I'd hoped to, but the kits came in so that is great news! currently burning in the lab in the lab (no not a repeat, it's in my beat laboratory ). if you were wondering where the other lab is, it is in my t39. I'm reusing the driver; which when I built it I didn't burn it in. would it be worth burning in now? total run time is about probably 30 hrs, mostly just under limit voltage (45v)

Tomorrow i'm projecting i will get the inside panels and the top panel on. Here's the pics for what it's worth

No need to burn-in a used driver. Burn-in is just a way to get everything stretching and moving. Regular use does the same thing. Only reason to do this *before* installation is to get the driver in its normal operating condition before the first gig, as to some, it may seem a little anemic until the suspension has had a chance to get all cozy. Others may not ever notice the difference.

I thought so. i got pretty far so far, but I was wondering how you guys cut out your handles? on my t39 I used a hole-saw and jigsaw, and the cuts didn't look that straight. it was ok because I carpeted it, but these are going duratex. Is there an easy way to make a router path? how else would I go?

Sorry no pics tonight, bugs chased me in. I got alot of work done today, put on panels 3, 4, 5, 6. the 3/6 braces went in perfect, I hope the rest go great too. I'm not sure what i'm gonna do for the mouth braces, but I like Drey's crescent braces , I might do something similar. Putting in the hurricane nuts kind of scared me; if I tightened them too much they would spin. so basically you're relying on the epoxy, which i'm not to sure of the strength. T nuts ftw!

The internals are just gooped with pl, but as Phatman says it's better to be airtight and well braced than pretty on the inside. I think I may have exaggerated that a bit... I'm just paranoid because unlike on the lab 12 version of the t39, you can't tell if there is leaks by pushing on the cone and waiting for it to return. There's the stethoscope method but that isn't as effective.

Having the choice between a pneumatic nailer and screws really makes the job much easier. what i do is put the pl on, nail it in place, then flip it over and crank the hell out of it with screws. I also am using a bit that has the pilot, flange and countersink all in one, so i just drill in, then switch to my Phillips headed drill and screw them in.

I had the right bit for tracing patterns that I didn't think I had, so I made a handle pattern and finished all of the handles besides the bottom one in one of the mouths.

thats basically it for tonight, it's midnight, i have to get up at 6 tomorrow to build some more. then at 4 i'm doin relay for life, which if you don't know what that is, basically you have teams and you need someone on the track throughout the night till 11 in the morning. so I'm gonna be lacking my sleep and on my feet the majority of the next two days. Sunday night is my deadline, because I'm borrowing my grandma's garage for building. She's been on vacation for a month and wants to come home to her house free of sawdust and pl!

All the panels are installed besides the bottom panel and reflector. So anxious to get it done! I didn't have the best time with the braces on the back. What I did was build it in, but what i'm going to do with the visible ones is build them, then install them. It should hopefully be cleaner.

I just can't get past the fact of the profile of these cabs! I just love that 20'' width, thinking of using them as a stage/risers, wall loaded.

decently sized handles, a little thin, but as long as it isn't dropped on the edge I'm not worried

I'm not to happy about the innards of these cabs, if time wasn't a factor they would look nicer inside. After I glue on the side, who's going to know anyways?

the end is near and i'm going to hopefully install the bottom and/ or braces and wiring I don't think I'm going to get to the DRs any time soon, maybe in august I need to get my license and insurance first.

It's been a while since I posted, but all that's left is trimming, sanding, painting and playing!
one is ready for paint, the other I just put the side on. I got to try out one in the garage, but it didn't impress me.... alot of sound at 30 hz and up. but i didn't feel 25... I'm not worried because the only configurations was on a table facing out the open garage, and standing it on end in the center of the garage, still door was open. my limiter was set wimpy too. Haha we'll see when it is boundary loaded and correctly signal processed. -and with the addition of another. can you tell I'm hyper?

Here's what I hope to have for my setup, using it as a stage. Hopefully putting them on their sides won't affect much, a radiating plane is a radiating plane right?

I've been using heavy duty screws for like construction use, thinking that the little drywall screws Leland has in his kits don't have enough meat to their threads... I used the ones from the kits for the last side and they were far better, since they had a small diameter you didn't need a pilot, just a counter sink. and they gripped plenty and sunk way into the plywood. what do I know ? the plans expect you to screw in the access panel, which I thought you would have used h nuts and screws for it. so be sure to order at least 30 nuts and screws (each cab) if you plan on doing it that way, otherwise screws come in the kits for that.

Off reservation - On the 21 of July I have a large outdoor grad party, that will be the "premiere" of these subs, the rest of my gigs until then don't need subs. I will also be getting 4 10 ft sticks of triangle truss, so I plan on mounting my roboscans to those as totems. my next purchase is dmx then I will get to the dr's!

today we are getting our roof replaced, that's why there is a random basketball hoop in the picture below. yesterday I was competing with them to see who could shake the house more. guess who won?

This is how I want it setup if I can't corner load. I would wall load facing it backwards. it works as an awesome stage, feel the mix in my feet, maybe put some mini par's in the mouth?

this is the one that is ready for paint. the other I painted with the side off, with my new spray grade paint. this one has 3 cans of aerosol in it, and that barely got me halfway up the mouth!
