I front loaded mine and "sealed" the baffle with gasket material and screws. Works great. My baffle is removable. Are you thinking of permanently attaching the baffle (as in glue)? Could make wiring a blown driver a nightmare...

Yeah, I have considered the wiring issue, I just figured if I leave me a lil xtra slack in the wires I should be able to pull them. I think Ill just front load and use screws and gaskets for the baffle. What did you use for a grill? Im kinda unsure of how Im gonna address the grill issue, never made one of those!

You could use neo magnets set in the baffle and in the grille frame. Or, http://www.parts-express.com/wizards/se ... et&x=0&y=0

thanks for the info Tom, thats kinda the way I was leaning. Infact I had those rubber frame mounts saved in my PE wish list! lol I havent decided on gray or black for the covers yet. Might play it safe and go black...or live on the edge and go grey!

Did you make any progress today?

I finally got started cutting wood today too for my TLAHs. It was nice weather in Kansas today, but the clouds are rolling in this evening. It's supposed to rain here all day tomorrow. I'll shoot some photos tomorrow after church and start a new build thread (I don't want to hijack yours).

So, did you go get some 1/4" material to make a router template for the restof you driver holes? A little time spent tooling will save a lot of time repairing. Plus, the router leaves the holes so pretty.

Show us your progress. I'm eagerly following your build.

Im just north of you about three hours in Des Moines, IA, it was perfect weather today. Unfortunatly I work 12hr shifts on the weekends so I havent gotten much done in the last couple days. I did get my 1/4 wood today, primer and gasket take from Menards. I plan to get things setup for routing tommorrow. Ill be sure and post any progress. If you want to post your progress on this thread feel free! I dont mind.

I did get my 1/4 wood today, primer and gasket take from Menards.

+1 for Menards. They have 1/4" Baltic Birch in 4 x 8's. I snagged one myself. I wish they stocked 1/2" tho.
The TLAH seems straight forward so far. Now to get some gluing done.

Heres one of the piezo lineups. Got some abs glue today from ace, man they done give that stuff away! Anyway I would have started gluing tonight except I didnt have any wax paper

Looking great chenry. The driver holes seem to take forever, but the router does make it much more repeatable. And the holes look much better.

Your pizza arrays look sweet. Are you going to cut the baffle with you circular saw? Or, are you going to route the slot? It looks like the outside edge of the pizzas will get very close to the edge of the baffle. Just be careful when you cut it out.

Keep on. I'm moving along too (see my build thread).

Ok, got the slots for the piezo arrays all cut and one of the piezo sets melded...Im one piezo short however b/c i cut my first piezo too short...needless to say i have 10 coming for backup..i cant believe i didnt order extras additionally!

Gonna sand and prime today!

One question I should start thinking about here is voltage..what should my limiters be set out? how do I compute appropriate voltage for each tower?

I asked the same thing about my Jack and was told the equivalent of, "turn it down when it sounds crappy."

The big reason for limiting the subs is they don't sound crappy as a warning of things to come, they just die. Then you're sad.

8 drivers (12-ohms each)
40W RMS
2-series x 4-parallel connection

The equivalent resistance load is 6 ohms, and with the rated power capacity of 320W:
voltage limit is 43.8V
current draw is 7.3A

Note, this excludes power consumed in the piezos and your filter circuit. So, please consider that.

Heres some of todays progress..forgot to snap a shot of the piezos but they look great!! I cant believe how well they turned out actually.

I tried to get some good shots of my roundover'in job but I guess I'm meant for drumming, not snapping pictures!
