Re: Portable 2.1 setup

I'd like to know how these little amps sound with different voltage applied. The link say it operates at 12-24v. Would there be more volume at 18v versus 12v? Would there be distortion or clipping at 24v? Would there a voltage "sag" at 12v? I guess all amps are different so it depends. I feel dumb f...

Replacing electronic parts

I was reaching for a box on the top shelf of a closet and my DBX PA+ that was in it fell out and onto the hardwood floor. I dampened the shock slightly with my bare foot (the physical pain was way less than the emotional pain). It still bent the aluminum faceplate some and the rotary-knob sh...

If you like 12s, build OTop 12s. Two of those with the 1.2hz crossover and the compression drivers are all you need for that small of a space.
I agree. My OT12's are flat-array tweets, but they're more than enough for the job. Have you looked at the OT8 or SLA Pro?

I changed all my corner to what Bruce posted and haven't looked back. Metal ones are for guitar or bass cabs :fruit:

Re: AT 10" driver choice

I've used one AT at a backyard bbq at reasonable levels and it performed great. I've also used 2 AT's in a single car garage and it was clearly heard on the other end of the house. And that was maybe 1/4 of its voltage limit. You can't underestimate the power of the design. Even though it wasn't des...

Re: 3D printed BF Logo Badge

That's pretty cool. I made press-to-fit crossovers and the BFM logo with mine.

If that Israeli heat is too much for PLA; you can use PETG or ABS (which you can make glassy smooth with acetone)

I tired to like but their site is acting up

Re: Tuba 18, David, Table Tuba 8" subwoofers. Best choice?

Another vote for MCM Like Tom, I've used a few MCM's and they did great. I've also separated a few spiders from the coils. A little epoxy and they were fine. The failures were most likely on my part since they were in a car (NO LIMITER!). Can't comment on a newer MCM driver, but in a bedroom you'll ...

Re: Yamaha CL/QL fader knobs on an SKP D-Touch 20?

I lost/broke all the fader knobs on my backup mixer, so I made some with my 3d printer. They're a nice tight push-on fit. The hobby can be really useful sometimes.

Re: Tuba 45 Build

http://www.pegasusguitars.com/making-go-bars.html I just use a mad assortment of 10-15 pound dumbells and bar plates... :D That's pretty cool. You'd need a really big cube to fit a max sized T48 in, though. Gym weight are a hot commodity right now. You could sell them, build some "go bars",...

Re: Using an 8" MCM for home theatre

...since we don't watch movies at high levels. I think you'll be fine with building a TT as wide as possible. When you're ready to upgrade to a full-fledged home theater, then you can build the THT. I wouldn't mess with Bill's designs. Using a 8" driver in a THT sounds like putting a lawnmower engi...
