Great looking work! Especially on a first build.

What part of Indy are you in?

Re: Looking for tips on a battery-powered PA

Though a small generator would still be the first choice, I've ran cheap active speakers off an inverter many times. Last weekend we ran a pair of 15" Behringers actives off of 2 deep-cycle tractor batteries at war volume for 8+ hours out on the lake. Then again, if this gear was destroyed, I d...

I'll hopefully be within an hour or so of Parsons sometime this year. But it'll be a drive-by.

Re: SLA Pro... It Has Begun!

Buddy's pool renovation has been eating up weekends lately... But I did have the afternoon yesterday to redo the baffles. Alphas fit fine, but after getting the tweets cut, I discovered they didn't fit. Remade my jig and got them cut out. Got everything put together, and once again... Amazed at how ...

Lookin' dang good. You've passed me up on the build... By a long ways!

I'm still amazed at how small all of it is on the SLA's... The drivers... The holes... The entire cabinet... I'm just itching to hear 'em! :noob:

Re: Do I need a track saw?

I still use a 6" cordless circular saw and either a sled or guides like these, which double as clamps: http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=25134&site=ROCKLER And you can get guide accessories that work with them too. Found these at Menards last night... Surprisingly, they were less tha...

If there are Menard's around, check there as well. Might have some leftover stock.

Would you be offended if I take a cue from that? I also really like Drey's sloped braces, so if you're reading this, that goes for you too. Of course not, I've been inspired many times here myself so go for it. I'm stealing Daniels' grill too  I'm thinking about re-ripping my sides to stea...

Re: SLA Pro... It Has Begun!

I bought one of those (not the 5hp model) for the new shop. Can't wait to use it. I should be up and running by the end of next week. :noob: :hyper: :hyper: Correction: It's the 3hp model. Not sure why I thought it was 5hp. However, I have to admit, the shaper actually feels much safer than the sma...

Re: SLA Pro... It Has Begun!

The Alpha 6a's are what I'm planning on using. I'd love to use the Alphalite's, but dang... $$$ Homo Depot had 1/2" pattern bits on sale yesterday, so I picked one up and got the "router table" up and running. 5hp is what most routers are, right? http://i49.photobucket.com/alb...
