Re: Jack 112 Lite, (x2)

It would be intersting to see a hybrid jack, basically a normal Jack for ease of build with the curved mouth for looks.

Re: New Jack 12s: Low bass output

Yes, exactly. I had the big coil in the high pass and the little one in the low pass. Kind of obviously backwards, now that I think about it.

Anyways, they are only marked in the plans by thier value, and I had no way to tell which was which.

Re: New Jack 12s: Low bass output

Verified the polarity with the 9V, (Nice trick) all OK. Found that the two coils in both my crossovers were reversed. They came unmarked, so I sort of guessed which was which. Fixed that. Resealed, checked for air leaks. VIOLA! Much better. There is bass now! I think with proper EQ and a more powerf...

Re: New Jack 12s: Low bass output

Steve,

Thanks for the 9V tip. To clarify, if a 9V is applied with correct polarity, the cone should move out, correct? Towards the front of the cabinet?

New Jack 12s: Low bass output

So I recently finished a pair of Jack 12s, with 3012HO drivers and 16 piezo melded arrays. I am very pleased with how they came out, but I have concerns as to the sound quality. I have hooked them up both with a Gallien Krueger MB Fusion head unit, (500W@4ohm, Jacks stacked) and as a PA with an Amer...

Re: Curved Grill WH10

I found some 5/8" clear acrylic tubing and spray painted the inside. Came out nice and shiny!

Re: some car audio decisions

... with a short RCA for signal and a cig lighter adapter for power. When I want to remove it, I just unhook two things and it's out (or back in) ... How do you manage the remote amp turn on wire? I see dead batteries if you forget to unplug the amp, or is the powerwire drawn from the ignition swit...

Re: some car audio decisions

As for the convenince factor of being easily removable, for my AutoTuba I wired an RCA jack in the wall in the back compartment, along with a cig lighter port. My amp is installed on the closed end of my AT, and I extended the AT sides to surround and protect it. Last, I cut handle holes in both end...

Re: Neodymium

There are still a few on eBay @ $170 or so, but the prices are spiking there as well. Glad I got mine a few weeks ago.

Re: Neodymium

Currently 3012s are still available on eBay for $165 or thereabouts. I actually just bought a used one for $85 shipped, but it's kind of fishy. It has no Eminience sticker, the surround material and the gasket material look different from my other 3012, and it has a rubber disk glued to the dust cap...

Re: Jack 12, first build, first test...

Ok, routed off 1/4", sanded down and repainted, now the plug is within 1 1/2" where it should be. Evrything back together... no pop, just a lot of clean sound, and lots of things rattling off shelves. Very satisfying after six weeks of building. Blue tolex came out very nice. Now I just ne...

Yep, there is. Somehow my phase plug is 3/16 over. Well, no harm done and easy enough to fix.

Jack 12, first build, first test...

Ok, so I got my first Jack 12 to the point where I can finally hear it. I have it hooked up to my GK MB Fusion amp, (350W@8ohm) plug in the bass, and at low volume it is sweet. Pump up the jam, though and I get a pop when the driver extends fully. Hmmm. Checked the back, to make sure nothing was tou...

Just finished my first one, thought it came out OK.

Have no idea how it sounds yet, but soon!
