Re: David - Just For Fun
Nice, I'm glad someone made these. Now I have a decent reference if I ever decide (have time) to make a pair. Thanks, they look awesome-

Re: Crown or QSC?
I recently bought an XLS402d for $220 and now the XLS602d is $215!? What's with the price drops!

Re: Loud Crown Macro-Tech 1200
Thanks-
I probably should've updated, but I sold the macro tech and got 3 amps to replace it-
XLS402d
XLS1000
and some 1RU Fender amp that's near silent for my studio-

Re: Crown XLS Drivecore Amps...anyone used 'em yet?
As far as being a good HT sub amp, they are quite adequate. I've run mine for hours and I still haven't heard the fan turn on. I don't have any of the internal DSP's operating though-

Re: Crown XLS Drivecore Amps...anyone used 'em yet?
I got a XLS1000 to power my THTLP, but I've only run it for 10 minutes to test 30hz sine waves. The fan never kicked on but I was only outputting 13 volts. It's very small, shorter and lighter than home theater receivers. It almost feels like a toy, but it seems to be just what I needed for a HT sub...

Re: Fender SPA-7500
The crown got here yesterday. How should I gauge the CFM of the stock fans? Pop them out and hope I see a model number to look up?

Re: Fender SPA-7500
So I picked it up Thursday, I've put it through it's paces since then- I have to say it's dead quiet and quite powerful. I'm surprised at the documented specs, it's very equal to the Crown xls402d that I just ordered. I think I'm going to replace the fans in the Crown and see how quiet that will get...

Fender SPA-7500
I can't find any info on this amp. I found one for $100, rip-off or deal? Seems like it can provide decent wattage, and it's quiet, but it's older so I'm not sure how that affects performance if at all.
My usage for an amp this quiet would be for studio monitors-

Loud Crown Macro-Tech 1200
I've had this thing for awhile but don't have a point of reference on these- I've mostly used this outside and in the garage for loud volume stuff, but I want to move it into the living room for HT duty. The fans are way too loud for cinema use. Is this typical of this model or should I look into re...
