Re: Are flight cases really for flying?
Yeaaa, I'm a dunce, didn't even think to remove the controller from the case, the S4 itself can easily fit in a smaller carryon-approved size container.. durr.. pack the flight case full of underoos and put it inside my checked luggage, problem solved! I keep my amps and 260 in an SKB case, that thi...

Are flight cases really for flying?
I am flying New York to Estonia on 20 Jan, and really want to bring my Traktor S4 along with me, cause I am staying for at least six months. I have the Odyssey flight case for it, but is that thing really rated for checked baggage? I have had luggage handlers break beer bottles which I wrapped in (w...

Re: You think Behringer can win you over?.... X32 that is...
but their mixers are known to fail within months when the cheapo pots and jacks wear out. Bought a X1204USB mixer around June because I'm stupid, and by September, three faders had failed. Thankfully, they fixed it ($11 to ship it back, boo) pretty quickly, but after having owned two Behringer mixe...

External processor vs. on-board
I'm going to be DJing in Manhattan this weekend, and instead of the nightmare of trailering my T60s into midtown, I'm going to be using the venue's house system (2x Mackie SR1530z and 2x SWA1801 to hold them up, only one of which actually works ). I've been trying to read specs and whatnot...

Anyone else find it odd that someone could be a member of this forum for over 2 years and still not bother to read a single thread about....well...anything... Re: 2 T60s vs 6 tops
Combining three sets of PA tops is a recipe for disaster. Especially when no attempt at all was made to make them couple. When the three sets are different , you have a whole other set of problems to contend with. I have a pair of Yamahas (SMs, different shape but same cabinet for the most part) an...

2 T60s vs 6 tops
http://i48.tinypic.com/rsc0hd.jpg Hardly a fair fight, the T60s easily kept up with 3 sets of PAs. Eventually we had the tops placed so they were pointing in all directions. Initially, we had everything going, 2 JBL 15" Eon powered PAs, 2 Yamaha S115Vs, and 2 EV ELX112Ps all playing >102Hz, wi...

Re: Trip report: T60 pair
Actually I take that back, turns out my mixer was just a huge piece of shit. I got a new mixer, and was able to get ~75v out when I sent the maximum signal I could muster through it.. good thing I didn't have speakers connected when I was setting the limiter ;p

Re: Trip report: T60 pair
Oh yes, absolutely. Everything runs through a dbx Driverack 260. Though it's around 45v program, it can probably spike way higher.Grant Bunter wrote:Hey Pond,
Sounds great
Just wondering, even though your amp topped out at 45V on the T60's, did you run a limiter anyway?

Re: First gig with a dual lab12 T60
I encountered a doorway where I had to take the rubber feet off a T60 to gain that last inch of clearance.. though it was rather overkill to drag something that big into a 12x14 room lol..

Trip report: T60 pair
Simply put, oh. my. gawd. Had my first gig with my new sound system (2x EV ELX112P's and 2x 27" T60s with Lab-15s), and hoooooboy did it go well. I was set up in a hall maybe 30' x 50', 25' ceiling, and finally got a chance to let my speakers breathe. I broke a wine glass testing in my basement...

Do I need a bigger amp?
I have a Crown XLS1000 driving a pair of Lab-15 T60s in parallel, amp sees a total load of 4ohms. Amp is rated for 1100w bridged @ 4ohms. The maximum voltage I can get out of the amp is ~45v. (Max safe voltage for these T60s is 60v). Every gain control in the signal chain is maxed out to reach said ...
