Re: XTi 4000 on a genset, some problems
Bite the bullet and get a decent generator. Getting a real regulator will cost a lot more than the Phonic you suggested. (It is nothing more than a powerstrip with "surge suppresion" and can't do anything to adjust the voltage. Buying a different amp won't fix your problems either. An unre...

Re: Behringer.. Yes or No?
I dunno. Yes, I'm a very low end user. But their cheapie 5 line mixer I bought is unusable, I have to turn the treble all the way up on the Mic and the output to keep voices from sounding muffled. Not to pick on you, but your reply gave more questions than answers. Are you plugging a mic into a lin...

Re: Best sound set up for Jacks 110 & the T39 ?
I can vouch for this as this is exactly what happens with the two older DriveRack PA models I have. A lot of rack equipment does this unfortunately. To compensate, we simply turn off the DriveRack's last, after the power amps are off and drained. So if you get a used one for cheap it isn't the end ...

Re: Behringer.. Yes or No?
I must have just gotten lucky. I have owned/used extensively 6 different Behringer mixers and never had any trouble with any of them. This has been my experience as well, but looking around the net, it does seem like we are in the minority as most people complain of Behringer mixer dead channels or...

Re: Best sound set up for Jacks 110 & the T39 ?
Thanks I will go with the driver rack . I trust DBx brand . Thanks again If you get a Driverack PA make sure that it is the later version (Driverack PA+). The original Driverack PA had some serious design deficiencies that could bite you in the ****. (Biggest one being that the outputs are not mute...

Re: Powering your BFM rig....
OK, after reading the posts in this thread (and the previous locked thread) along with a lot of previous postings covering much of the same, I've finally had to go read the I-Tech and I-Tech HD manuals because a lot of what people were saying really seemed to be repeating misconceptions. (Didn't any...

Re: Behringer EP4000
It's about time for the moderators to do away with this thread. BUT. since they haven't, the pictures above don't prove much of anything other than that both amps (may) use the same extruded aluminum heatsink--which is made by neither Behringer or QSC. And they get many (if not all) of their parts f...

Re: Setting Limiters
The idea is to apply a signal to the amplifier that drives the amplifier to maximum output with the amplifier input attenuators at maximum (they do NOT change the gain of the amplifier by the way) and adjust the limiter to give you the maximum desired output voltage. Done this way NOTHING done earl...

Re: Setting Limiters
1. Turn amp attenuators up all the way. That is correct (and necessary) for setting limiters. It is NOT correct for setting gain structure for system operation. When I use that method, I have to take the signal down to the point that it barely registers on any of the meters. So...what I do is this:...

Re: Ebay Crown XTi 1000 B Stock
If it is from an actual Crown dealer quoting as B stock or opened box is one of the ways of getting around MAP. As somebody else said, they were quoted a price by a dealer, but that dealer can't actually advertise that price for a new unit.

Re: USB Condensor as a "field-grade" USB mic for lapto
Thanx for the reply and clarifications Ray. Your thoughts on a standard USB ports ability to provide sufficient current for 48V Phantom power. What about with a long mic cable attached say 50 to 100 ft? I've used an M-Audio MobilePre (2channel USB audio interface with mic preamps and phantom power) ...

Re: USB Condensor as a "field-grade" USB mic for lapto
I wasn't aware of even large diaphragm condensers drawing over 20ma? I thought most only drew about 6ma @ 48V. Some preamps like in acoustics draw a bit more but I always thought they were under 85ma.? WELL under 85 ma. Standard (48 volt) phantom power is applied through 2 6800 ohm resistors (one t...
