Re: Doug's dual 36" THT LP build

That's great Mike, I do the same with my kids. Teaching kids actual skills early is so important, and good daddy time as well.

Re: Doug's dual 36" THT LP build

It is massive, and only one of two. I like how sneaky they will be once hidden behind the wall. It is getting louder too as the hours of play on it grow. I have it hooked up to the family desktop computer where my 8 y/o daughter likes to play games on the Disney channel Club Penguin website while li...

Re: Doug's dual 36" THT LP build

Well, I'm finished and forgot to update any pics because I'm too lazy since I have a 5D and the pics are huge and I have to resize them all for Bill's site. BUT, they sound intense. I had the pair of T48s already hooked up and they are much louder with the same power, but the THTLP pair are deeeeeee...

Re: Doug's dual 36" THT LP build

I'm lovin' it too! But, I'm a little particular about my builds, so this one might be a bonfire in the near future because of the warped boards. The measurements are close to their respective marks, but boards ending up wavy at the joints even after using all of the guide boards and such just bother...

Re: Doug's dual 36" THT LP build

Yes, the guide boards are a must. There is no way I'd be able to keep them in place otherwise. My wife hasn't seen this one yet, or the second one. She will no doubt give it the WTF IS THAT!? Our house is referred to as the House of Bass by the people on our block for good reason and I can't let the...

Re: Doug's dual 36" THT LP build

It's the new Trapped Horn design! I am sticking with the plans - the other words were in jest. I am regretting letting this ply sit for the last 3 months in the garage. Even though it was weighted on all corners on a flat garage floor, it is very warped. It is noticeable when I cut the angles since ...

Re: Doug's dual 36" THT LP build

I have the panels rough cut, and the first two pieces fastened. I decided to use the brad nailer since that is what I'm used to, and my T48s are holding up nicely after lugging them around for the last couple of years. The THTs will stay in the same place - thank God, because these suckers are going...

Doug's dual 36" THT LP build

Here goes my build for two 36" THT LP with the 15" Dayton DVC385 for my basement home theater. The room is 13' wide x 30' long, and 8' ceilings with the seating 13' from a 110" screen. The seating area happens to be in one of several sweet spots for the corner-loaded subs. The subs wo...

Re: THT low profile build.

Wow...great build! Thanks for paving the way for me - I started mine yesterday and your photos have already answered a few questions for me. Would you do the pocket screws again, or would you stick with a brad nailer? Any other advice for me?

OK, now I gotta ask, "what is that tasty looking beer". It looks like I need to sample that one for you. Oh yah, my other hobby is brewing beer (and judging of course). Chris That delicious beer is one of Boulevard's Smokestack Series limited edition called Collaboration #3. Living just a...
