Re: Simplexx 110

Which speaker and tweeter have you installed into your 110? 2510 I've already found :) ..and which tweeter? Sorry to Necro this thread....but I used the Eminence APT 80 tweeter. I built this before the plans were updated to spec a different tweeter for bass guitar use. I guess I should give an upda...

Thanks! I was paranoid about getting the driver's centered so I carefully laid out the screw hole locations and predrilled them before placing the drivers.

SLA

I just finished up a pair of SLA's for my living room stereo setup. I bought the parts for these many years ago but never made the time to get these done. The actual boxes were easy enough to make, but finishing them out nicely was a fair bit of work. Here are some photos from the build. I wanted to...

Re: SLA and Tuba 18 build

Very nice. I have the parts for a couple SLA's and a T18 that I need to carve some time out for. I'll be happy to have mine look half as good!

Re: Simplexx 110

I suppose personal taste is a factor as well. I think a lot of bassists are really into that mid scooped, low heavy sound, but I would not want that as my go to sound. I think many don't even realize it because that voicing is baked into so many bass amps. I am now thinking a J12l might handle my el...

Re: Simplexx 110

I wasn't sure about starting another thread, but in doing some experimenting I have a couple questions. I thought that what I was liking about the S10 over the Omni was a a better ratio of 80-200hz to 200-1000hz. After trying a multi band eq with the Omni, I didn't make much headway. On a whim, I st...

Re: Simplexx 110

I finished out the gig last week with the tweeter. I have to say, for upright I am not hearing much of a difference. I have pretty dark sounding strings on right now. A more mid rangey string might benefit from having the tweeter. On electric, I am really preferring having the tweeter. It gives the ...

Re: Simplexx 110

You might want two for that. In fact, I DO want two. That being said, I haven't had a chance to push this cabinet to its limits, and it definitely gets loud enough for me to want hearing protection. If you play with a midrange heavy sound and don't mind cutting lows, I bet you could crank one of the...

Re: Simplexx 110

It is a Walter Woods indeed. It's a great sounding amp with an awesome EQ. I was able to get the Markbass to sound pretty similar though.

Simplexx 110

Hello everyone, I thought I would share a review of my Simplexx 110 I completed a couple weeks ago. Not much discussion has happened with this series so I hope this review is helpful. I built this cabinet to be used primarily for low volume gigs on double bass. I wanted an easy carry cabinet that I ...
