Re: How many different designs have you built?
I went on a BF speaker building bender starting in 2005 for about 5 years. Strictly for electric bass back line. Some of it was for experimental purposes. I measured the frequency response of all the boxes I built. First cab in 2005, O15 with mid, no tweeter DR280 no tweeters DR250 with melded array...

Re: 10 years of headaches/migraines
The spectral power distribution of Fluorescent lighting is uneven, having spikes is certain bands of the light spectrum. Since I have birds flying around my house I did a lot of reading on indoor lighting. I think the 3 key points are flicker rate, the spectral analysis, and a bulb's color renderin...

Hey there Tom, glad to see you're going strong. Took a peek around to see what's new and was pleasantly surprised to see Leland has flat packs. Hmmmm ..... looks like some more cabs in my future.Tom Smit wrote: Hello stranger! It's been a long time since you've posted!

Re: RTA Questions
There is also a button you will see in the RTA process that is labeled ROOM CORRECTION. What I believe that does is push the lows up very slightly, and pull the highs down very sightly. The ROOM CORRECTION button doesn't get mentioned much, but I've always preferred the results with it on. It basic...

Re: RTA Questions
If I didn't want to use AutoEQ, couldn't I just play pink noise then adjust my EQ until the RTA shows the response curve I'm aiming for?..I'm guessing that should be a gentle slope down from left to right?..isn't that how older RTA's worked? I've done it both ways and agree with Bill that it takes ...

Welcome to the forum. When I built my first O15 it was on the grass with a small camping trailer for storage. Fun times.a3plew wrote:Small storage sheds to be exact.

Re: How Often Do You Check CraigsList?
Just out of curiosity, do any of you check your local CraigsList frequently? Lot's of good deals on CL. Problem is you can go broke saving so much money. Bought some tools last year and a fretless Yamaha bass a few months ago. Some things better to buy used, some things better to buy new. In any ca...

Re: Hand Truck Modifications
Hey all, I was at a graduation ceremony last evening and noticed that the sound crew (Yorkville rig and a sweet, compact FOH rack) had some hand trucks with carpeted plywood attached to the hand truck to extend the bottom and make the whole thing wider...looked pretty sweet. Any of you all do anyth...

Re: About to start 4 Tuba 24's double BP102 4Ohm!
Just to be objective, the Omni 12's will lose considerable bass pole mounted or mounted up high as they should be. The 4 dual tuba 24's can take advantage of proper placement and corner loading and 4 duals will have considerable more Vd than the omni's. Having the omni12's by themselves also is a n...

Re: Air Compressor Box
One quick question: why gaps in the convoluted foam lining inside and on lid? Lining the inside is the least important aspect simply because it will only attenuate high frequencies which have zero chance of escaping. I was basically using left over pieces of foam (hence the gaps) on the basis that ...
