Re: Epique E150HE-44 5-1/2" DVC MMAG Extended Range Subwoofer
Vd is 139.7cc. The Vd of an average eight, like the Dayton DCS205-4, is 180cc. The Dayton also has lower Fs. It's not a driver that I'd use.

Re: David build
It's not the midranges, since the crossover is at 200Hz. Those deep peaks and valleys are classic boundary effect. The good news is that they're not severe. Using EQ to boost the nulls and reduce the peaks should do the trick. The response you have to 30Hz most speakers, at any price, can only dream...

There's no advantage to foam over polyester batting when they're of equal thickness.

Re: Help picking sub, TTLS, Auto, or Tuba 18
At the minimum TTLS, two of them. Anything smaller won't add significant content, if any, to Cornwalls. Subs must be larger, a lot larger, than mains, not smaller.

Possible, but two smaller cabs will work better than one larger one.

Re: What voltage should I limit my...
The limit voltage is based on the driver xmax, not the thermal power rating. It's explained in your plans in the 'Protecting Your Drivers' section. With 9.5mm xmax your driver has the same 50v limit as the 3012LF.

Re: J210 Lite Build
It's not dangerous at all if you follow Rule #1, never have your hands near the blade, and Rule #2, always push the work into the blade. He broke both. I cut large circles on my router table, which is wood. After cutting the part to a square the diameter of the circle I put the center point of one e...

Re: J210 Lite Build
He also rotated the piece in the wrong direction. You rotate the piece into the blade, with your hand on the piece on the side of it opposite the blade. He's lucky he didn't lose a finger or two.

Re: J210 Lite Build
Idiot. He tried to rotate the piece while it was still in contact with the blade. He should have pulled the sled back away from the blade and then rotated the piece.

Re: Price Increase Q&A
When I introduced a new plan I did that and probably still will in the future, but it wasn't for an indefinite period. It was just for a few months, for the benefit of those who bought the entire set not long before the new plan was introduced.

Plan Price Increases
The basic plan price has been raised to $19.95, the first increase in fifteen years. Inflation has hit us too. To help offset this the panel jig plans will be included in that $19.95 price for single plan orders. The panel jig will still be sent at no charge for all multiple plan orders.

Re: spl charts questions!
Measurements taken indoors will be dominated by boundary reflections and cabin gain. What they're good for is determining the optimal combination of placement and EQ for the best possible results at the listening position in your room, and bragging rights if they look really good.

GT-1016 for $31.50 each? That's ten times the US price.

There's a better way to do it, now that I think about it. Get this app on your phone: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dom.audioanalyzer Set it to Spectrum Analyzer, 1/3 octave, C Weighting, Slow Response. Download a Pink Noise generator, play it through your amp/speaker. Then follo...
