I had the EXACT same problem with my titans. I blamed an old kick mic, but I now think it is the drum. Recorded kick pounded. Sounded really strong and tight. Live kick sounded like a smack instead of a thump.

The wallyworld stuff does have a really nasty smell. If I got some duratex, could I go over the duplicolor stuff? I plan on building 2 more T-48's, and want them to all look the same.

The individual spray cans are around 8 bucks, and the gallon is around 50. I cant remember what I paid for the kit. Maybe duratex is the better way to go, but I am gonna do all my cabs with this stuff. I like it

The chain store truck bed liner is available in gallon cans and quart cans, and has the benifit of being available in rattle cans, too. I used the rattle cans for the inside corners, and then rolled as close as I could to them. There is also a kit available that has a gallon can, 1 can of spray, and...

They are 1/2 mdf. I brought them into the house one at a time by myself. Kinda heavy, but they wont be getting moved much. MDF is what I built the tlah's out of, too, and I personally like it better than ply for stuff that isnt being moved around. I find it easier to finish. I had a chance to pump s...

Double Table Tuba's and TLAH's

I finally completed the 2nd table tuba (minus finish). I watched a few movies over the weekend, and all I can say is WOW! The TLAH's play louder and cleaner than I can stand. The double TT with the MCM 8's, powered by a PE 240 watt plate amp is absolutly thunderous! I built the access hole on the op...

It does sound pretty time consuming. I just thought it would get me in the ball park without spending any dough. I would eventually like to get the behringer unit, but its SWMBO turn to spend some dough on the HT room. She will have more cash in 1 couch than I have in the whole audio system! I may g...

cheap room curve adjustment?

Burn a cd of test tones the same freq. as the eq sliders, then play them through the system with the outboard eq flat. Get a rough idea of the average db, then do it again, adjusting each slider till you get that db on your spl meter placed in the listening position. Would this make a fairly flat ro...

Dual T-48's

I did an initial reveiw a while back, but I ran sound for a classic/80's metal band last night, and have to share the results. I could only wall load the titans. I stacked them on their sides with the mouths about a foot or so from the wall facing the dance floor. I had 1800 watts (900 to each cab) ...

Hey, everyone. My name is Dave. I live in Bloomington, Illinois. I work in a small print shop as job planner. Comes in handy when the band needs flyers, demo covers, cd stickers, etc. I am also a bassist in a hard rock cover band. I am 34 and have been pounding out the low end for over 20 years now....

hole cutter

while pricing hole saws, I came across a flycutter at sears. It is 20 bucks, and will go from 1" to 6". I cut 18 4.875" holes and 32 1.5" holes in my tlah's. You must use this with a drill press. I used MDF, and the cuts were absolutely perfect! half the price of 2 hole saws, and...

Titan 48 first gig.

Used my 2 titan 48's for the first time with a band last night. 3015LF loaded, driven by a bridged carvin HD1800 using a 40HZ low cut. It was a small club that sometimes complains about volume, so the only thing running through the p.a. was vocals, kick drum, and lower toms. When I got to the bar, t...
