Re: Contemplating new lights
You need to be careful with bubble machines too. The popped bubbles like to create a slick surface on the dance floor.

Cut the corners at a 45 to follow the ports and make the grill octagonal.

Re: Plywood needed for WH10
Both great ideas but he's really looking for just one box. He likes the vocals through my W8 but would like it better if he had kick and bass in the monitor.
So anyone have an estimate on the plywood?
Thanks!

Plywood needed for WH10
Hi,
My drummer wants a monitor that he can run bass and kick through and I suggested a WH10. Trying to estimate costs for him. Can someone tell me approx how much plywood it takes? I have a rough estimate on the other items.
Thanks!

Re: My fourth BFM build. A set of Jack 12s with ASDs
I had one. Just make sure you stand clear of the board being pushed through. I've had lumber come shooting out when ripping. Busted a window in my shop. Like any tool, as long as you are aware of the danger and prepare for every operation, you will be fine. Most accidents happen on repetitive cuts, ...

Go to an autoparts store and get 3M double sided trim tape. It's made to hold trim and emblems on cars.

Re: Hearing with their eyes
I've been in studios where they had a whole bank of knobs that weren't connected to anything. They were the producers/managers knobs. When they wanted more bass or treble, they were pointed to those knobs if they wanted to adjust anything. - lol

These work great for cables and other misc stuff. They stack great and you can carry three at a time with a folding handcart.

I only have one Yamaha but what you're describing is what I had envisioned myself.
Now to find a good deal on a used xti20002.

Re: Limited Budget
The ability to grow is always a thought as well. However, we are mostly going to be playing places that have the sound systems provided. This setup will be for the smaller bar gigs that we would get. And I think it will be multiples better than those bands playing with powered 12" cabs on stick...

So, I have a Yamaha EMX88s, two DR250s, and one (so far) wedgehorn 8 for a monitor. I am going to build 2 x T39s and probably 2 more wedgehorns. How to power this cheaply? I was looking at getting a driverack, but then I thought maybe I'll get a Crown xti2000. My thoughts are this, use the EMX88s as...

Re: Dented Dust Caps?
Take a needle or a fine pin and bend the tip into a little hook/L shape.
Poke it into the middle of your dent and use the hook/L to pull the dent out.
If you're worried about the hole, put some white glue on it.
I've done this many times after trying vacuum and tape first.

Re: Curved Grill WH10
Wait, the grills get their own jig but the poor arrays just get to get glued on a piece of square stock? No jig for the glue up?
