Re: Peavey IPR vs Yamaha IPR

Osse that would be asking alot of the 1600 ipr! IMHO hold out if you can on a ipr 3000 or 4500. When they become available in the U.S. I am going to get a 4500 for my subs and use the 3000 for tops. Will use the 1600 for monitor duty or back up. I will be bumping up for the head room. I don't like t...

Re: Peavey IPR vs Yamaha IPR

I have had the IPR 1600 and 3000 for over a year now. I have had no trouble with either. We use ours for both band(classic rock) and DJ work. The IPR 3000 powers 4 - 3015lf loaded subs. We have always had plenty of bass.

Hope this helps.

Re: Piezo Element Repair

If you can I would mark the back of that piezo. So that if later you have trouble with the hot glue breaking loose, you will know where to look first.

Can't wait for more pic's in your DR200 thread. You sure do nice work David.

Re: Piezo Element Repair

David, I have used a small dab of 5 minute epoxy with good results on piezos. I used 5 min epoxy on a 10" bass speaker where a seam came unglued. And months later it is still working great in a 4-10" bass cab. Those speakers get a work out too!

Re: Mics for acapella barbershop?

Yeah, but how long will it hold up? Sennehiser e835 actually does better, especially with retaining fullness as you back off the mic, can be had 3 for $200 and comes with a 10 year no questions warranty. The squared off fronts also hold up much better to drops than the traditional spherical screens...

Re: Mics for acapella barbershop?

This may not be your answer to this question. But if you are happy with the SM 58"s and need more mic's I have a frugal replacement. We A/B tested the shure against the Behringer XM8500 Microphone and could not tell a difference. The XM8500 sells for $20 online.

Re: Otop 12 review

Are you guys talking about the Beta 12a II? (http://www.speakerhardware.com/beta_12a_ii-SPKAmStdBeta12a-2.php) Is it really acceptable in the OT12 or say.. T39? yes, I used the Beta 12A II in the Otops and with some EQ they go very loud and sound great. I am very happy with the sound, much better t...

Re: Otop 12 review

Sorry I didn't see your question sooner, Hallwalk3r. I am very happy with the Otops! If I had to do it all over again I would do it the same as I did. With 2 -T48's and 4 -Otops I cross them around 100 to 110. If you have the Beta's I say what are you waiting for . Build, build, build.... I am about...

Otop 12 review

Last night we did a gig at a local bar. This was our first chance to try out the Otop 12's one per side. The room size was 24' wide by 70' long. This also had 2 large doors open and a large outside deck for the smokers. The place was jam packed all night long, I would guess 300 people. We set up one...

Re: Things I've learned I would like to share.

Hi Phil, us Iowa guys got to stick together. The mounting the speaker trick worked great. Give it a try. I just wouldn't do it using an air stapler or brad nailer method for putting the final side on. Could shoot thru and hit the speaker... Harley your sure right about HOT! :cussing: Made ...
