Impulse Responses (IR) of BF cabs

I recently became the proud owner of a Darkglass Microtubes B7K Ultra V2!! :hyper: Aside from a great preamp, the distortion circuit is most excellent and has endless variations to explore. But the true game changer, in my mind, is what Darkglass terms "Cab Sim". Via a micro USB, the user ...

Re: Advice on starting over...

I'm a little late to the party on this one, but I'm in a similar situation. I play in a similar band as yours but with the added "noise" of a very loud keyboardist. 1 guitarist runs the sound onstage and is VERY attuned to his volume in the overall mix. He's painstakingly gone through all ...

Re: 2 Jack 12's - first time cab builder

I mean really, who we trying to kid?- White has no place at a bar. Would work well with weddingplanners and the mother-in-law if you play weddings :noob: Or the occasional Bridezilla. :cussing: "Uhmm, like...", twirling hair and snapping bubblegum, "Can you, like, change the color of...

Re: My XF212 Build

I'm already loving them, and I've had a few friends asking some questions about them. I didn't want to take the 'slap together a box and toss some speakers in it' approach. I sure am glad I waited to find something with a more intelligent design. I did make them 1" deeper to accommodate the 5....

Re: D-Fend

FWIW, I have one of the early evaluation units. The good news is that it works, the bad news is that it seems the instructions were written by the same person who wrote those for my DEQ 2496, as they're just as worthless. If you aren't an engineer you can't figure out what they hell they're talking...

Re: Gear in a trailer

How this thread went from gear in a trailer to guns and shooting people is shamefull. I vote to close it. Oh, lighten up. Protection of personal property is held near and dear in this country. There are those who want to take your stuff - we are just discussing options to keep that from happening.....

Re: Gear in a trailer

Doesn't Bill live there? New Hampshire I believe. NH is close, both physically and with its firearms laws. You can walk into a Walmart, buy a piece and strap it to your belt. However, if you want to conceal or carry it in your car, a license is required. For years, NH has tried to institute...

Whooda thunk a Northeastern state would let you pack heat, concealed or otherwise, with so few restrictions.

Re: Gear in a trailer

Not true, anymore. Michigan law now states that unless you don't meet the legal requirements, you must be issued a CPL (concealed pistol license). Technically, this is known as SHALL ISSUE . The Republic of Massachusetts, from which I hail, is MAY ISSUE. The CLEO of each town/city has the right to ...

Re: How the He11 do U deal with sound "experts" in the booth

As the son of a Budweiser salesman, I was "treated" with their products for 33 years. In my twenties, Dad provided plenty of maintenance beer by passing on 2 cases a month. When I finally had some money, I launched into the better microbrews. My current, everyday beer is Sam Adams Oktoberf...

Re: How the He11 do U deal with sound "experts" in the booth

Some a$$hole came up to the booth after the service and started ranting about how we didn't know what the f*ck we were doing, the speakers sucked, the mix was wrong, ... It's tough when you volunteer your time and get this kind of reaction. This is a gift of the heart, mind and soul and criticism c...

Re: Omni12 Bass Cab Build - dual 10 BP102, LA6-CBMR, APT80

Lesson #472 of building a BF (or any) cab: driver gaskets will compress. Everything was fine yesterday and when I tested today, the low B/C on my 5 string created a buzzing/rattling in the cab. "Can't be!", says I. Then I recalled someone talking about driver gasket compression. I opened '...
