Re: Dr2xx HF alternatives (Europe ship.)
Ah, same here, where in sweden? I am still not sure which ones i should build from the dr200 and omni12 but if i run the grs pz1016 we could compare? I will search the web even more when its time to build and order. The ones in the links i posted seem to be copies from the older recommended HF unit...

Re: Dr2xx HF alternatives (Europe ship.)
Should be a lot of resellers selling other copies and alikes, perhaps somwone tested other brands? :) Hi, im not sure where you live, but im from Sweden and i tried the Rila SA 16 for my SLA PRO when it was on closeout on Hifikit.se I think i gave around 1.5€ per driver, now they are 6€ :( Its a bi...
Re: My TLAH
Next time you bring along a Tuba HT, and tell him to bring along an extra pair of socks, to replace the pair that gets blown off of him. Haha i could bring my T60s and amps, they pair pretty well to the TLAH with a ~ -12dB gain to fill 25-90hz indoor. I honestly think the room would break apart. I ...
Re: My TLAH
They look awesome! Great work. What's the impedance on one of these stacks? Do they require a lot of power to drive? Thanks! :D They are roughly at 8ohm. No they require close to nothing to sound absolutely amazing, anything over 20w will do great if you ask me, with this high sensitivity design i ...
My TLAH
I have big faith in BFM designs thanks to a couple of builds so far and i really wanted to hear this type of speaker design for home/hifi use, so i built myself the TLAH. I used the cheapest drivers i could find. The GRS 4PF-8 and Goldwood GT-302, and bought filter components from a local shop. The ...

Re: TLAH sound
Little update on testing. Full review will come later 👍 I will test these later in a local Hifi shop where they can really shine in a big, well treated room. I did some basic wall mounts and hung them in my 40m² (430ft²) garage, it is usually really bad acoustics in there, long empty walls, concrete...

Re: TLAH sound
Which species of timber is that Linus, and is it a stained finish? The colour is so nice.. also backmounting drivers to me looks much cleaner, more work but worth it. Imagine how amazing the sound is going to be with a proper bottom end... you could drag in one of your T60s Thanks! That is 3/4"...

Re: TLAH sound
I placed the speakers in my small livingroom thats 20m², far from optimal placement, but thought okay, lets give it a try. Using SMSL DO200 DAC to a Yamaha P2500S spare poweramp. (YS Processing was off when i did the measurements) no eq or anything, same voltage level in all the frequencies. So i st...

Re: TLAH sound
I don't see mention of your subs. I will try to make a manual C-weighted curve tonight or tomorrow from 70hz up, measured at 2 or 3 different locations in the room. It will be far from perfect but maybe it will be enough to see if there actually is a real problem or not from my building. It could b...

Re: TLAH sound
Did you measure response when you said "lacking from 80Hz -270Hz", or is that perceived? Hi and thank you! No, perceived. But according to my ears they do really really slope down below 270hz. But i guess a measurement would be of great use here. I could maybe use my hand hold spl meter a...

Re: TLAH sound
Without seeing an SPL chart I can't venture an opinion. Okay, then next obvious question is, how do i do to get a SPL chart? :D I have a DBX RTA mic, and a computer, thats it. What more hardware/software do i need to get to measure the speakers and get out a SPL chart? The least pricy alternative w...

TLAH sound
Hello, i built myself a pair of TLAH and used GRS 4PF-8 and Goldwood GT-302/S from Soundimports. I am really impressed with the sound but im not sure if i did something wrong, they really lack bass/low-mid. I tested all the drivers individually and sorted out a couple of bad tweeters, luckily i purc...

Re: Dayton UM8-22 in TAT?
Loading lower isn't necessary in a car. That's how they can used sealed subs with 60Hz F3. Besides that on this side of the pond station wagons are as rare as honest politicians. Yeah that might be true, according to the SPL charts the low end should boost drastically with 3 drivers, and ofc the do...

Re: Dayton UM8-22 in TAT?
Plus if you finalize construction INSIDE the cabin you MIGHT thwart potential thieves. A friend long ago did this with a bass reflex, and we had to use a car jack against the inside walls of the truck to break the box apart when I bought the drivers. (They were back mounted, as well.) Haha that wou...

Re: Dayton UM8-22 in TAT?
Seth, yeah smart idea! You should definitly do that to the second TRT :D But i want to use the regular AT with similar driver that i have now, a 45.5" wide loaded with three tens would fit my E61 perfectly, and use the shopping hatch to load stuff ontop of the box when i need to do that. I have...
