Scale Of a Typical Band PA
Here's a group of cabs I just finished. Thought maybe someone would like to see what kind of size a typical BFM PA is. DR250's, T48's, WH10's.
If it's too loud, you're even older than me! Like me.

Leland, would you typically stand those stacks like that? I mean are they tall enough to project over the audience or would you have to use stands for the tops? And how many people could you do a rock concert for with that set up? By the way they look great!
Thanks,
D

Re: Scale Of a Typical Band PA
Throw in some mic stands an amp rack and digital board and you got a complete PA for a small band and can haul it in a MiniVan and shake the room to boot! Very nice representation Leland.
That should provide some incentive to someone to get started!

You almost always use stands for tops, and almost never split subs. Why? :iitp:drihanek wrote:Leland, would you typically stand those stacks like that? I mean are they tall enough to project over the audience or would you have to use stands for the tops?

I've covered 300 outside with pretty much that same setup.

Not much different from what they compete against, like these:Chris_Allen wrote:I keep forgetting how big the WH10's are.

But a world of difference in dispersion.

The door in the background is a 6'8" 3'0. The t48's are 24 wide.

I'm still contemplating on building a WH10. The WH (8") is very small

Thanks for the picture, Leland!

Re: Scale Of a Typical Band PA
Ok, the sub arrangement thing is something that I have never seen before. (I know you could crack jokes here, but work with me). So what to you do if center floor space and corners are not an option. For example in a lot of churches I find myself in there is just enough room off to the sides to stand a Titan 39 in or in the case of my church the subs have to be flown?
Also, can you v-couple sides or should every sub be in the same place stacked and v coupled?
Thanks,
D

Then you've never seen a system set up by someone who knows what they're doing. But I'd say at least 90% of 'professionals' don't.Ok, the sub arrangement thing is something that I have never seen before.
Then that's where you put it.drihanek wrote:For example in a lot of churches I find myself in there is just enough room off to the sides to stand a Titan 39
Subs should only be flown when they're close enough to boundary load off the ceiling.in or in the case of my church the subs have to be flown?
Re: Scale Of a Typical Band PA
And another thanks for showing DR250 and WH10 together. I'd like to hear WH10 for bass backline, but if I ever get to build vocal wedges, I am now convinced they will be WH8.
