Rope Caulk Walmart?

#1 Post by djlivex »

Does anyone here use the rope caulk from Walmart for sealing air tight spaces like metal handles and Neutrik metal plates to speaker cabinets? Obviously you can not use the foam weather strip because too thick. Thanks!

If you buy Neutrik plates, handles etc from Leland he always provides gaskets for them, so you dont need to caulk it..

I haven't used rope caulk in that application, but I can recommend using thinner (1/16") neoprene sponge foam gasket tape.

It squishes down to less than 1/32nd. McMaster Carr (#8694K62) and TCHweb (#556-NP11634900 ) both have the stuff. It's an alternative to using rope caulk if you already have the hardware in hand.
