Feed Table Question

#1 Post by doncolga »

Hi all,

I've acquired a table saw that appears to be in better working condition than the one I had before, but I still need to try it out. I'm assuming a feed table is a good thing to have and easy to build, but I don't think I need a huge one. What suggestions for size, etc, would you all have for a feed table? Does anyone have any pictures?

Thanks!

Donny

Width: same as your table saw surface
Lenght: Minimum of half of your longest cut. If you think you will need to cut 8 feet long, you will need at least a 4 feet long outfeed table.

+1
Make the top out of some thing nice and smooth so the wood [ply] slides nice and easy over it.
I would make the width wider than the saw table,if you,ve got room,to give more support if ripping a strip off a wide board.

Here's mine. It's 4'x8'. I should move it back closer to the saw.

Come on Paul, show em what else you got going down in that workshop. It's something to feast your eyes on.

Here's my monster that takes up 1/2 the garage:

The outfeed is made of "melenine" which is basically 3/4" particle board laminated on both sides with white formica. Wood slides real easy on it. That's a 4'X6' out feed.
