Thanks, that looks good albeit a bit pricey over here (about 3x US price).LelandCrooks wrote:http://www.eminence.com/speakers/speake ... model=820H

Re: XF212
Is there a typical radius folks put on frame edges when fitting this mesh? I haven't got any appreciable radius on yet, and I'm thinking it needs something.

Is that frame 12mm thick? Sorry if I missed it.

Yes, its 12mm thick DJ. The mesh is the stuff from Leland. Anyway, i realised I probably didn't really need an engineering poll on this, so just planed something around an 1/8" radius or a bit less and that'll keep the tension required to bend it round an otherwise sharp corner down a bit, and prevent relaxation at a later date.

Then 1/4" or 6mm round over. Stretch it over, then staple it down. If it loosens, pull the staples on one side and pull tight again.Charles Jenkinson wrote:Yes, its 12mm thick DJ. Re: XF212
This doesn't always work, but I like to take a dowel rod and wrap the fabric around a few times then stretch it over and staple. This helps keep the fabric square to the grill so it's not mis-shapen or distorted.

Re: XF212
Ok, thanks guys. The front frame with mesh is looking more and more like it is going to be last thing finished, but that makes some sense, of course.
Here's the foam fitting. The back door needs a couple bare patches where speaker magnets are close - should've got a picture of it - may still be able to, but when you lay a speaker in and look in the back along the door plane, its obvious. Also Spent 15 minutes looking for a butterfly catch screw, which I'd lost, but knew had seen somewhere, - they're the worst lost screws right, arghh!

Thanks Gents. I'm not going as slow as i can to keep anyone in suspense, but whilst i was on a roll i have meshed the frame and leaned it in place for a quick picture. ...Sheesh, I'm not that far off needing to find someone who can play for a video shoot ont th'eye pad.

Not quite, mate. You need to get to getting on with the psychedelic patterns on top of that purple haze!Charles Jenkinson wrote:...Sheesh, I'm not that far off needing to find someone who can play for a video shoot ont th'eye pad.
