Ran into a hiccup, this isn't remotely airtight. (see corner) Any suggestions for how to make this airtight? I'd like to keep the back removable in case of driver failure. Things I have: lots of weatherstripping, PL, wood glue, duct tape, other miscellaneous stuff. The width is a fixed distance because the bottom is determining the width of the sides so no amount of sideways pressure will fix that...

Looking pretty good considering I did 75% of the work today.

Finish will have to wait til tomorrow, then it's driver wiring time (any suggestions for a quick way to test polarity, or rather a quick tutorial).

Thanks to a forum member who mentioned/showed using thin ply as a wiring board, only burned myself with the soldering iron twice.

rotate one of your inductors so they are at 90 perpindicular to the board and the other conductor. helps eliminate interference between coils.

Considering the length of the wire is short as is (inductors) I'll see if that is possible.

Add some wire if needed to make that happen...

Building this speaker I have broken: 1 tweeter, 1 sock, tbc....
Something things I have learned: soldering lots of tweeters is a PITA, remember to drill out the hole for the screw (goldwood tweeter), never work when you're in a bad mood.

Progress: working on mounting and soldering/ installing.

-1 Woodworking, especially speaker building, should change that bad mood into a feeling of calm and relaxation!

Meant to say: tired and frustrated -> bad mood.

Hopefully Leland can throw in some extra tweeters into my order, or else I won't have speakers for a long time, or I'll have to use the one who's frame I broke :(, hoping Leland checks his PM's regularly.

That does not work for me, at least not always. Speaking for myself here, but I have learned from experience that whenever there is a grain of impatience in my bad mood, I should refrain from doing woodwork. Especially when nasty buggers like the table saw and router are involved. My impatience tends to lead to stupid mistakes which only reinforce the mood :chainsaw: Your mileage may vary.

Although my answer was meant as "tongue-in-cheek", my conveyance didn't come through. Apologies.

But, for me, when I could woodwork, it made me happy and relaxed. I didn't put pressure on myself to get any projects done. I just worked on them instead of watching TV, going to the bar (not always  ), recreational stuff. I kept it a hobby. Since I can't woodwork anymore, I miss it very much. It is all in your perspective of woodworking. If you think of it as work, it is. If you enjoy it, you'll never work a day in your life.

Done. Although emailing me is a much surer way to get my attention, or at least to make sure I get it done. Hard to keep track on stuff on the pm system, and my memory aint' what it used to be.
If it's too loud, you're even older than me! Like me.

I must be blind but I couldn't find your contact email, thus the pm. Regardless you've provided nothing but class A service so thanks for being awesome.
