I have my two 30" T48s setup for music in my basement rec room area which is about 1000 sq ft and I think the bass FEELS perfect!

Very much so with the electronics. Avoid using pro amps, they cause more problems than they cure and don't work any better than consumer grade gear.

Oh god yes, this is so true. I still have issues trying to properly get my xti 2000 to run my ht sub. I've just given up and stuck with my basic sub amp.
But bear in mind, it's not impossible but requires a good understanding, extra gear, and extra effort.

Titans belong in a basement :)

I have my 400ish sq/ft basement setup with 2 X T39 and soon to have 2 X Otop12

Doug C,

The Titans sound good down there? I had another idea to do maybe 4 18" T48's for a bit more extension.
Is is true that the T48's will reach as low as 32hz with enough in the stack before the driver starts to "unload"? Proper terminology?
Maybe I am way off on that.
Haven't yet found out if this is going to be HT and Disco use.

Build a Table Tuba. Basically the same size as a T30, but uses an inexpensive 8" (or 10", if you can find one with appropriate specs), and goes to 30Hz no problem. Heck, for 18-30", build a dual loaded TT!

Groups of less than four cabs should be high-passed at 40 Hz. With four cabs or more 35 Hz is acceptable.

You can fudge the HP a little if you limit the power going to them, but you really shouldn't have to fudge the design; you should chose a different sub if that's what you are looking for.

But bear in mind also a stack of 4 18'' T48's is going to be huuuuge. about the size of two chest freezers, 8 feet long, 3 feet high, 4 feet deep? Would you even have that much room in one spot?

Hey, I've got a good idea if you want to do that though, stand them upright, line them up, and then slap a bar top over them

Except then you'd never be able to hear drink requests, and whoever gets to man the bar will be deaf by the end of the night.

+1, although I'd suggest a couple dual loaded to even out room nodes and make sure you can reach earsplitting volume with ease.

I have just been advised that this will be used for HT also. :slap:
Which seems as though it will change things a bit as I was also informed that they want Karaoke to be possible and have a DJ booth and have the ability to run tracks with an IPad when a DJ isn't present.
Should be interesting.

Use a web hoster. Picasa is where I'm at.

Good morning guys,
I chanced the blizzard and made it over to get my initial pics taken. The systems priority is going to be for the disco 1st and UFC/HT 2nd. He was even talking about having a little Bose for HT. I am not a big fan but, I respect his wishes. If I can however create a cost effective system that can do both with the above priority taken into account with ample headroom present for the wildest possible disco nights than that is a possibility.
The pic with the stairwell is going to be changed and expanded fairly soon, but those measurements are not yet known. Regardless there may be a way to tuck a couple bassbins underneath the stairwell with ample room for cab width.
More pics to come.
Thoughts?

Thanks
Jordy

I think you're thinking correctly.
If it was me I'd build do 2 x SLAs and 2 TTs or THTs put in the spots you're showing. At full proper amplification you won't be able to hear each other speak without screaming in ears....which is "loud enough" IMO. Don't bother with surround sound or Bose or any of that. Rock out a 2.1 HT with killer bass. Nobody will be complaining.

9,000 watts and I'm not afraid to use them.
