Sage advice. It is unreal how much the highs simply go away when your ears are out of the line. When people hear my system, they think it sounds good, but lacking 'crispness' until they sit down.

Like you mentioned above, the area in which you still have a great stereo image is huge. For my old speakers, it was about a foot away from dead center and you lost it. With the SLAs, I have about 4 feet to either side of center and you are still immersed in the stereo image.

My first post (so assume I know nothing), and a quick observation, and a few associated (probably very uninformed) questions.

Before anything else, Absolutely beautiful cabinets, I envy your skills.

I have just started looking into the TLAH, in the research stage, very intrigued by the design and cost, I have not bought the plans yet. But from looking at the pictures, isn't it simply a sealed box? In what way is it a transmission line? And in this sealed alignment (would be helpful if you don't mind disclosing the internal volume) how low do they go (F3) when fed a fullrange signal? I assume a real transmission line would go a little lower? And will it be ok to use them without a highpass, i.e. will the natural rolloff/impedance rise be sufficient to protect the speakers?

Apologies if this should not be in the "review" section, but since I am directing my question at the reviewer's build photos, I thought it would be ok.

Bottom of the box is open. I believe Bill designed it using horn parameters meshed with TL theory. It is a hybrid horn transmission line. It is amazing how it sounds for less than $100 in parts. It easily competes/beats any 2k ht system in the stores. If you're thinking about it jump on it. Drivers that meet the specs don't come around cheaply very often, and the current closeouts on PE are a dead match. They won't last long. It was about 2 yrs after the nsb's were all gone that another closeout that would work came around.

Question for you, my tlah plans don't give dimensions for the 3x5's, what dimensions did you use for the 9 driver cabs?
If 9 3x5's measure 45" they are too big for standard tlah and too small for the pros. I have my 3x5's and my box of 200 onkyo's ready to go, just need a starting point.

Somewhere in the forum there is a post that addresses this issue.

Bill states that adjusting the total length of the cabinet isn't super critical so you can adjust the over all length to compensate for the extra length you will require for the 3x5's. Just stack 'em up and then add the appropriate extra length on both ends as required and you are good to go!

Ahhh, it is open, now I see. Thank you. It is so cool that there is so much theory that goes into this design yet at the end it looks like a simple sealed box with a hole, or a ported box with a super short vent. Now the strange shape and the different angles of the panels make sense. I will be ordering the drivers ASAP, thank you. Btw the NSBs were 60cents each as opposed to $1.50, oh the inflation!

btw has anyone measured the TLAH's response with these particular drivers yet?

Now I can build 4 of them
I getting all the rest of the stuff from Leland for the T48's and whatever he has that will help me finish these.
I'm probably going to try build to 1st 2 exactly like yours but I might try some different shapes for the 2nd two.
More like the TLAH Pro's shape. I hope Bill will help me with dimensions.
I will keep yall(Texas) up to speed on what I'm doing.

Yes, I followed the plans exactly as far as the crossover goes.
