I think it's more like the wider it's built the flatter it goes, how low it goes would still depend on horn lenght, no ?
I think horn loading stops in the AT around 40 hz ? not sure cause i had mine built and don't have the plans myself, it's still pretty nice for movies, certainly when your used too those tiny subs that come with cheap surround systems.
blowing away a bose system isn't exactly that hard :p
AT installed! about time......

Yes it is. Thats what I mean if anyone hasn't built one should.
Exactly what I meant on those little subs.
I always put bose above the rest.....I will have to rethink that conclusion.

Although when I hook the 2 subs together I am just jumping it from sub to sub. What am I gaining or am I doing it wrong?
Is it going lower? or just louder? Definitely feels lower.
Drumming is a way of life.

Scott,
I see you are enjoying your pair of AT's for HT duty. You owe it to yourself to built a TT
. Absolute thunder in about the same amount of space. This was my go at it. About 5 days (with a few breaks in between) from sheet to cab, no paint of course.
Enjoy...

a bit lower yes, it has to do with the air in front of the horns, you have to see that as a mouth bubble, which is round... so if you make it wider it makes the horn a bit longer and you'll get lower cutoff... that and you are double the mouth earea and that flattens the response too.Scott Brochu wrote:paul_ulrix wrote: it's still pretty nice for movies, certainly when your used too those tiny subs that come with cheap surround systems.

but to get really much lower you got to have a cab with a longer horn path, like the tabletuba.
I'm wondering which other bfm cabs would work nicely with an extra wrap ?

The next wrap on about all of them gets VERY big to make any significant difference. Think about how big corner loading is to give you that extra mouth size, and you get the idea.paul_ulrix wrote:I'm wondering which other bfm cabs would work nicely with an extra wrap ?
If it's too loud, you're even older than me! Like me.
