What kind of router should I buy?

Helpful hints on how to build 'em, and where to get the stuff you need.

Back on topic, a plunge router is a very good thing to own.
If you can get one with a 1/2" shank and 1/8" adapter you have more variety in choosing bits.
1/2" bits are stronger and less likely to snap, so they are worth the extra money.
This is probably not true with the 1/8" bit used with the Jasper jig.

A popular brand router is much more likely to accept a Jasper jig bolted on to the bottom.
This is used to make precision hole cutouts and baffle spacers. I consider this a mandatory router accessory.
My biggest worry is that when I'm dead and gone, my wife will sell my toys for what I said I paid for them.

+1 - All Ryobi routers accept Jasper jig,and the 1200watt one is reasonably cheap. lightweight ad reliable.

So.....Honda and Chevy now make routers???? :bash:
That made me think of the Top Gear episode were Jeremy used a V8 powered food blender. Just imagining what he would make a router into. Imagination going wild, must get some sleep.
