Back on topic, a plunge router is a very good thing to own.
If you can get one with a 1/2" shank and 1/8" adapter you have more variety in choosing bits.
1/2" bits are stronger and less likely to snap, so they are worth the extra money.
This is probably not true with the 1/8" bit used with the Jasper jig.
A popular brand router is much more likely to accept a Jasper jig bolted on to the bottom.
This is used to make precision hole cutouts and baffle spacers. I consider this a mandatory router accessory.

That made me think of the Top Gear episode were Jeremy used a V8 powered food blender. Just imagining what he would make a router into.
