I have a DJM-909, DJM-707 and I just got a DJM-800 pretty cheap from a friend going belly up with his DJing aspirations.

I have the 909 since it first came out and I LOVE LOVE this mixer. I had to send it in for a new switch (and wasn't charged) because someone I used (key word: USED) to work with tossed his headphones in the coffin mid-show and took the effect engage switch off at the stem.

It's an awesome mixer. The 707 is it's discontinued effects-less brother which I also LOVE, but I like the effects of the 909. Defintely checkout the 707 if you can find one, it's a lot like the 300 without BPM counters (you won't need them with most CD decks that are out now anyway) But it's better IMO because it has balanced XLR outs, a handy session input, and the indestructible, tension adjustable, no friction fader.

Don't get me wrong; The 300 is an great mixer, either one will make you happy for many years.

ooo actually it sounds like the 707 would be a better way for me to go. I did not like the rca only outputs on the 300 and i really do not need a bpm counter.
thanks
