Speakon hole size?

#1 Post by mjm »

I ordered Neutrik NL4MP Speakon 4 Pole Panel Mounts. While I am waiting for them to arrive could anyone tell me what size hole needs to be drilled to mount them?

Thanks Mike

Hello Mike,

The Neutrik web site has all the Tech info for the Speakon® Lockable Loudspeaker Connector / Chassis Connectors.

If you need two on the cabinet (I always do) this little puppy from PE is a great way to install them. All you need is a 3" hole saw, the back side has a 3" circular ring that fits right inside and a bit of caulk and 4 screws fix it in. You do need some small bolts to mount the speakon connectors but they're fairly cheap. Can't find them, but I'd picked up a bag of 100 and another of 100 nuts at PE a while back.

Of course, for those of us who are less precise... 1" I haven't yet put one where it needs to be sealed. But when I do... 1" and a little hot melt glue around the edge ;-)
