There's a thing of beauty. If you know, you know. The first time a mit goes in there to position the cab, it's impossible to go back to the floppy, metal roadcase type.
I'll be gluing some 5/8" oak quarter round on the backside of them too, for the finishing touch. No one will ever see the work, but their hands will thank them.
Onwards to filling holes, building the access panels, and final sanding. Been also researching Etsy for that honeycomb-looking grill work that's all the rave now. Will see if I can get any of that for the project.

Great looking build. But, those 48s are monsters...even the slim ones. Glad I get the low end I need from my 39s.

Did you ever find or decide on grill material? I spent some time looking through listings this week. I really like the honeycomb. I found a factory grill that I’m hoping will fit my needs. Just curious of how your endeavor to find some turned out?
Re: Radian's T48 slim build
Not yet, but I definitely need something to keep the critters out of the mouth. Way back I bought the largest perf grill from PE, and it just seems too small for subwoofer duty everytime I look at it. The cheap side of me would just use pet screen or chicken wire, but the hex does seem right for the job.

Re: Radian's T48 slim build
I’m not seeing anything I’d consider cheap, maybe $30-50 per cab. Depending on the sheets and how you can cut it. Most seems to be raw carbon steel and will need painted. Didn’t search Etsy or Amazon real good. Just ended up with a lot of industrial type distributors. Watch the material carefully, there’s a lot of aluminum out there, especially the prepainted. Custom car grills site shows up a lot in search. Looks like speaker hardware has some good looking grill material, just don’t see hex.

The Hex costs four times what expanded metal does, and doesn't work any better.
Re: Radian's T48 slim build
Radian's interest was not in the cheapest functional option. It was acknowledging the trend and cosmetic as a lot of Pro cabinets have begun using this aesthetic: JBL, QSC, EV, RCF, etc. A defining mark in the appealing professional appearance, for better or worse. I'm not necessarily for or against it, just aiming to assist the OP in his search.
