FIN!
Also tested them in my garage. O. M. G. The amount of output on such a tiny amount of power blew me away! And CLEAN. No chuffing, warbling, popping, or anytime other than effortless bass. I'm impressed for sure! Everything in the garage was seriously rattling on just 3 volts. THREE. Insanity!
I tested for leaks and found none. I did have to file down the driver access cover braces as they were hitting the driver surrounds a little but that was no big deal.
Anyway, on to the pitchers!

INSTALLED!
Got them initially dialed in. Will probably need tweaking over time. They're crossed at 100Hz using a 12dB rolloff which seems to work well with the towers.
Impressions: HOLY #*$&*@& ^@*#!!! I knew that these were going to produce more sound than the single 18" direct radiator that they're replacing (you can see the old sub in one of the images tucked behind the piano), but I was not prepared for just how much. Nor was I prepared for the fullness and depth of sound that comes from these. They are low, clean, clear, and full. The venue now gets to hear notes in the music that it's never been exposed to before. The music seems more "complete" and closer to how I'm sure it was intended to be heard. The bass feels effortless and "easy." I am super impressed! This Bill guy knows what he's doing.
Last night was the major debut and I got a few compliments on the sound. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, and conversations I felt could be had more easily, especially in the absence of the "wub wub wub" from the direct radiating sub.
Thank you to all for your help and advice, and thank you to Bill for the awesome design!!

Great job! I'm glad they sound as good as they look. Is that a corner behind the piano? A mirrored wall rather than an opening to an adjoining space? If so, you may want to try putting it fully in the corner, either flat to a wall as you have it, or diagonally facing into the corner.
2 DR250s, 2 27" Lab15 T-60s, 2 30" Neo Titan 39s, 1 Autotuba...and looking for more!

It's an opening into another space. There's a hallway behind the mirrored wall with opening to it on either side of the dance floor, and through the curtains in the center of the mirrored wall. No corners to put the subs in.Rich4349 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 1:44 pm Great job! I'm glad they sound as good as they look. Is that a corner behind the piano? Is this impression while powering them with the old QSC 1400 "underpowered" amplifier?
