I've had tinnitus for over 30 years. I've seen a ton of claims that say they'll help. You can always try it. I've just learned to live with it. I go to sleep with the TV on a timer to mask it.

Mine isn't bothersome except that the left ear is down a bunch from 5K on up. Lot of different opinions on
what works and usually it's nothing. Many truckers age 50 and older have a bad left ear from that window
being open many hours a day and that will kill the ear.
My local audiologist made me what he uses for hearring protection when he goes to concerts and I paid $150
for them. They allow 90% of the high end to come through so I hear most everything. All musicians need these.
When first putting them in, you will think you are missing things in the sound but you get use to them. If you take
them out half way through a performance, it is so bright and noisy you"ll understand why they are needed. Seriously,
dont F around with your hearring

You are absolutely correct. I have some earplugs that reduce the decibels but are pretty even across the spectrum. I really should use 'em more, but I'm not running loud rock shows like I used to. Still would be a good idea.
Stay away from the foam plugs.....they sound horrible, so nobody will use 'em. I got mine off the shelf at an audiologist's office. They were only about $15.

Re: Tinnitus Help, Maybe . . .
This book has helped me greatly recently, having put up with tinnitus for 10 years, it ramped up in the last 6 months, I'll be fitted with hearing aids in two weeks for moderately severe hearing loss at 2k and 12k. Just using sound therapy, meditation and the information in this book has had quite a noticeable improvement, in two weeks!
Good news is that tinnitus is a side effect of increased gain in the auditory pathways, and in itself is harmless.. this alone helped me tremendously.
If tinnitus bothers you, get this book..
