Call me lazy, but when I need to tilt my Jack10, I use a length of 2 x 4 that I spray painted black. I had to stick some no-skid pad thingy on it to keep it from sliding backwards. Fold out handle sounds cool, if it locks in position.

Ha! We do one show where one of the singers stands way back from the front and we don't want to put the monitor back on her blocking the walkway across the stage....lots of traffic back and forth with guest singers.

So, we have a special audiophile-worthy piece of 4x4 painted black that we stick under the back of the monitor.

2x4?
Been there done that! :)
Nothing wrong with it until you forget your trusty wood block at the house.

These are probably taller than you want, but somthing similar could be a good option.

I think you'd be hitting the sweet spot for bass with 6 tweeter melded array for bass, three each side.

If you happen to play fretless bass, the tweeters will be a surprisingly good addition. I don't really understand it myself. I even have flatwounds on my fretless basses. And still the tweeters add some air to the sound. Very nice.

Thanks again. I just glued up 4, but no big deal to add 2. Makes sense to have the extra sensitivity, if that is the correct term. Anyway, I think it will look better too.

Good luck on your build man! They're a different beast construction wise..
Would it be poor form to ask my questions about the J110L here, or should I start another thread?

Yes, this has been a different kind of project, but the plans are really great. Bill's advice to go slow and just do a little at a time is really smart. I don't know about form regarding starting another thread, but I've had great help with my questions here. Must admit it's taken me a while to soak it all in, but I can tell you the cab sounds really spectacular. I've been stumbling through, but Bill's plans really cover the details extremely well. Just put some black primer on yesterday and played music and my five string through it. Fantastic. One thing I need to figure out is if there is a way to regulate the hiss out of my tweeters. I took the easy way out with crossovers and just put in two pre-made boards from Dayton Audio. Super simple and it basically works, but probably best if I now build up the exact design Bill shows in the plans ....anyway, maybe there is a simple pot to put in line somewhere and just back off on the tweets. But I sure don't want to lose the sound in the process! I fully agree with Bill about the tweeters being essential for bass. I ended up with a melded array using 6 tweets. Excellent
I did rig up legs for it to tilt and will try and post a picture shortly. All I can say is go for it!

You can't use off the shelf crossovers with piezos.

Thanks Bill. Back to the plans. Should I disconnect them while I wait for parts?

No need to disconnect them, but they're not doing anything so there's no point in them being there.

Tweeters don't produce hiss. They reproduce hiss if hiss is present in the signal that is being fed to the tweeters. In other words: your amp is the most likely source of any hiss you hear.

If you need an analogy: this is quite similar to the actor on your TV screen. The actor is not in the TV. The TV does not cause actor to be. The TV merely reproduces the image of the actor that is present in the signal being fed to your TV.

Thanks for the note. I just finished 2 crossovers following Bill's plan to the letter. I've only connected to 2 amps so far, and that high sound emerges....so maybe some kind of filter would take that out? Overall, the sound is outstanding and way more than I need. Great to have that low end response for sure and the extra "hiss" would not be an issue at even low gig volumes. Just quite apparent at low practice volume.

Just to clarify further. The slight hiss is present at all volume settings and with treble off or on. My phone app says it's about at 3.8 K. Maybe that's just a characteristic of the tweeters. Tried different speaker cables too. Amp doesn't make this kind of noise even at full volume. How tricky is it to adjust tweeter signal level?

Tweeters don't hiss, electronics do. If tweeters hissed it would be present even with the amp turned off. You could reduce the tweeter level by wiring them all in series, but that will cut the signal level too.
