Yeah, I was kinda wondering about the order there too. That's how Bill wrote the plans, though, which is part of what made me wonder about it. This cab came out almost perfectly square, with all of the internal panels lining up nicely, and I checked for leaks as I went, using a bright light, so I'm pretty confident it'll be okay. Never done this before, so maybe my confidence is ill-founded, but we'll find out soon!commander_dan wrote:Looking sharp indeed. Although it may have been prudent to leak test before applying the finish. Hopefully it tests up all good
Yep. I did it that way without going back with the extra bead and have not 1 rattle or leak after building 8 cabs. As long as there is even a tiny amount of PL in the joint, it'll expand and concrete the joint together. PL is good.jimbo7 wrote:Sorry to jack your thread, but I got a question that relates braces that have been discussed here.
Whenever I slide a brace into position, a lot of glue gets scraped off onto the edge of the panel. I comeback and lay a bead on each side to make me feel better. Is this an acceptable method to prevent rattles?
Those skid rails look nice! I may have to get some for my upcoming build.ctmullins wrote: I also put skid rails on the lower backside.

Those braces arent glued all the way to the end.I circled the area's that arent glued.Being near the end of the horn they may not have an effect but with so many unglued area's the chances of rattles increase.himhimself wrote:djtrumptight wrote:The circled area's will more than likely be rattles
What are you seeing that indicates rattles are likely in these spots? thanks
I'm glad you pointed that out, DJTT. I did actually go back and smear some PL out to the ends of those braces. Better safe than sorry, right?djtrumptight wrote:
