He doubles all of the module braces to 1" thick so that he can come in with a Forstner bit and make a nice little pocket for the screw. A really nice idea I might have followed had I the patience to cut out another 16 module braces. But for my first DR I decided to go with the Nacelles as Bill spells out in the plans.

It also requires a large drill press, you can't do the job freehand with a drill. That's why this method isn't in the plans, as very few members would have a drill press with the required capacity.

So reworking the CNC software to allow for dados has proven to be a good decision.. I can now assemble perfect compression driver modules in about 10 minutes! If you have done these before you know what I'm talking about, these little parts move all around slipping on the glue while you are trying to fasten them. More importantly no tape measure needed..

Thanks Grant... I'm really having fun with this.. With about 20-30 more cab to be built I gotta make this faster and easier for me but its great practice just in case I make this hobby a business

With your ruthless efficiency and impressive resources put together with Bill's world class designs and knowledge I could envisage BF Loudspeakers becoming the next PK or Funktion One

However, Bill is just as likely to be happy selling world-class designs for a handsome reward to the machine that is Pro Audio consumerisim, which enables him to sell us mere mortals superior designs for the price of a weeks worth of Espresso's!

I imagine Bill as 'The Pro Audio Philanthropist' for the everyday man.

Thank u Titanium for the kind words.. love the IKEA reference lol.. Ive been building speakers for 20+ years but nothing to push me to get overly creative until I started building Bill's designs.. Horns are just so much fun to build and allows me to do what I love most. I've always been that guy to figure out easier ways to speed up and perfect production.. Although I give props to Bill with his ingenious assembly procedures as there is really no better way if you are assembling 2-4 cabs..

No Leland I cut with straight up or down cut bits only.. The cnc parts are cut to exact size then I just run the part against a sacrificial fence with the blade buried into it at the appropriate angle. That way I still keep the edge the cnc has already cut and dont have to do any measurements..

You can see in this pic how I put the cnc cut edge against the sacrificial fence and the blade on applies the angle to the edge without changing the actual dimensions of the part..The larger pieces I do on my slider for ease..

Thanks howiez.. you are pretty close, I figured all the money I save building my own cabs it was a great investment.. I actually ordered another one since my work load is drastically growing, and Im seriously considering making it a business.
