Folding FOH ConsoleTable

#1 Post by byacey »

As I mentioned on a previous thread, here's pictures of my DIY folding FOH console table.
It's made from 1" thinwall tube, four casters, seven hinges and a sheet of 3/4" plywood.
When folded, two long wingnuts hold the whole thing together for transport. Not shown is a handle on the underside of the tabletop that is convenient for wheeling it around while folded.

In Photo 109 you can see a closeup of one of the wing nuts (Wing bolt?) that holds everything together when folded. It's simply a 1/4" bolt that I welded half of a washer to the head forming the wings for tightening.

I'll post the other pics on a continuation post

Here's the rest of the pics:

You can see the carriage bolt head that drops into the square notch when the top is flipped up into place. This locks the fold out sides so it can be conveniently wheeled around with the console and other FOH gear on the table top.

Thanks Grant. The main thing is it's solid, will support at least 400 pounds and is convenient to pack in the truck and move around.

Nice. I may have to nick your idea. At the moment I am using a pair of sawhorses and an old bit of wood (8'x2'). Although this works, it is vunerable if someone falls into it whilst drunk/other. At least you know that if anyone falls into yours, they are going to be the ones who are hurt and not your own expensive kit. Thanks
